Really, as soon as you are off narcotics, you'll be fine. I came off mine on day 3 and felt well enough to have easily driven somewhere (although, I wouldn't have wanted to take a long roadtrip, but a run to the grocery store was fine).

I was on driving restriction for 2 weeks post op. Of course I drove after 1 week. Big mistake. I was so sore in my belly. But many others have no problems driving sooner.

Make sure you listen to what your doctor says and how you feel. If you are driving against medical advice and are in an accident, your auto insurance does not have to cover you. At least that is the law in Missouri.
