Mumers 2 Posted August 2, 2013 Still feel like I can't get much down and feel every swallow go into my stomach. Does this go away? Oh and everything tastes gross and makes me feel nauseated. How were you at two days out ?
NoneYa 380 Posted August 2, 2013 It'll pass soon as the swelling goes down. Just sip all day and follow your Drs plan.
No game 14,437 Posted August 2, 2013 Everything you described is normal. The first week or two is hard, you just had major surgery, They shoved a tube down your throat that's why swallowing everything hurts, and cut burned stabled and sewed your stomach back together that's why you feel sick to your stomach. It gets better! But yes it takes time. Hang in there. 2 Cheer Mama and Erica2013 reacted to this
Lia M 46 Posted August 2, 2013 Agreed, the first few days are pretty intense. I ate a lot of sugar free popsicles and drank broths. Never got a full popsicle down even...and I actually threw up quite a bit the first two or so days. I am almost 4 months out now, and I can eat anything without issue =) 2 sweetlaydee and Jeanie S reacted to this
BayshoreBuddy 58 Posted August 5, 2013 Somehow knowing this is normal helps make the first few days easier to deal with, Thanks! 2 Cheer Mama and No game reacted to this
Cheer Mama 166 Posted August 5, 2013 tiny sips! For almost the first week I had my measuring cups lined up and I was sipping them every 10 minutes. IT WAS HARD! :0) After that I kept, and still use, a Water bottle with the oz. measurements on the side. I have to admit my commitment to getting all my liquids was the threat of hospitalization again due to dehydration. Sip your tiny sips. OFTEN! I'm about to start my 3rd month and I get dehydrated very easily and it's made worse by the fact that I can't gulp Water without my stomach having serious spasms. good luck! 1 BayshoreBuddy reacted to this
