mparkersmith 72 Posted August 2, 2013 This week, I'm a little over 2 months out from surgery. After light workouts for the last few weeks, tonight I went to a one hour Zumba class and it felt GREAT! I'm down 50 lbs, my hip pain is gone, my knee pain is gone, and working out feels like such a privelage. I remember wondering if, at 38 years old, I would ever be pain free again. Well, it is happening, and I was so grateful tonight while I was dancing that I almost cried right there in the gym! I am truly thankful that I am getting my life back, and this surgery is the best thing I've ever done for myself. Working out again ROCKS!!! What a difference a couple of months makes! 5 TerryBelieves, belladona, Molly3 and 2 others reacted to this

cindymg 629 Posted August 2, 2013 That's so great! Congratulations! I noticed today that when I walking down stairs, surprise, my knees didn't hurt anymore. I could move faster than the young kids! Guess my couple of months of speed walking is working. I am going to try Zumba next! 1 Cheer Mama reacted to this
Lorie269 392 Posted August 2, 2013 I am so glad that you posted this. I am 1 week out and even though each day gets easier, I'm still in the "Why did I do this" stage. I am hopeful that at 2 months out this first week is just a memory. Way to go with your success! 1 mparkersmith reacted to this
blash67 82 Posted August 2, 2013 My pain was even alleviated the day after I got home from the hospital! Just the 10+ # from the preop helped my hips and ankles! I went to a party and mingled for 6 hours, standing periodically, and not shifting my weight or searching it a chair. I am 3 weeks out and started Zumba last week, along with returning to Water aerobics. It's probs too soon for the demands of Zumba but I've made it thru 3 classes so I am trying to stick with it. It ain't easy, but with weight coming off, I know it will get easier quicker. I am much more motivated with exercise now that I am not overstuffed with food each day. It makes a huge difference.
