cdgmom 0 Posted June 6, 2007 Thanks Tann, I like that comparison on cheating - I would never dream of cheating on my husband, so why do I cheat on myself with food! I did great yesterday, I had a really hard work out at the gym - played Raquetball and rode the bike at a Level 6. I'm also doing this 7 minute exercise plan that is all resistance. You basically tighten up different muscle groups and hold the tension for 30 second intervals (do each 3 or 4 times) it is harder than it seems and I'm sore from doing it (especially my behind which could use a lot of tightening). kareyquilts 1 Posted June 7, 2007 Turner, glad your mom is doing better. I have been out of town for the last little while. We went to Costa Rica and visited a cousin. It was great but I gained 2 pounds. Oh well, I'm going to keep trying. I want to be in the next challenge. I noticed the stats chart and saw that mine didn't have any numbers. I started at 254. I weigh 182. I want to weigh 145. I have 37 pounds to go. I am going to get a personal trainer next week and make the last push. I can do it. I'm just going to make that my personal mantra. Hope you don't mind. I was feeling a little groggy yesterday from M/E but I felt better after I did my cardio and went for a swim. I'm feeling pretty good today and my Ketone level is at moderate - so I'm on my way! Turner, glad to hear your mother is well. Missing you Niecy and Avilla. Congrats on your loss, I will start m/e probably on Sunday if not sooner, I don't like losing 1 pound a week:faint: hamburger or ground turkey patties made with meatloaf seasonings:hungry: slow roasted pot roast, turkey breast, I like dark meat tho. grilled chix, grilled lamb chops, pork chops Steak, beef ribs, pork ribs baked fish, or whatever seafood you want Trim all the fat, and not too many chix wings & turkey wings because they tend to be fatty, especially the turkey wings. I do use a lil onion & sometime bell pepper to cook my meats in for add flavor and because I'm also cooking for other family members too. Watch the salt also. niecyrenee 2 Posted June 7, 2007 I wanted to pop in and say a quick good morning! It sounds like everyone is doing good. Karey, going on vacation and only gaining 2 lbs. isn't bad. On vacation you are to enjoy yourself but now that you are back home, you can buckle down and concentrate on it. This week has been good. I haven't had any weightloss since the first of the week but it will start up again. A few days without a change isn't bad. I am throwing back and forth the idea of starting m/e on Monday. I haven't fully decided yet but I am leaning towards it. I don't really mind m/e; sometimes it gets difficult but overall it's not bad. I just hate coming off m/e. No matter what I eat, I alway put on a pound....or a few. That's always a let down but since it's just a couple and I've had a 5 or more pound loss, I guess it's not too bad. Thank you...Its nice to come back and know that I have been missed...I for sure miss everyone on here and wish that I could come back alot more than I do...I am still trying to get use to my second job and just finished up my second complete week of working the second job...Its going pretty good and even got my first pay check...Of course I havent had the time to cook like I should and havent had the time to work out at all...I just stay so tired and spend all my extra time trying to catch up on things that I am behind on...After I get started good on this new thing of mine I will be back more than now and try to figure me out a schedule to get some working out done...But for now, I am just glad that I am not gaining anything and being able to maintain my loss...Best wishes to everyone and big hugs!!!!! tann 2 Posted June 10, 2007 what is induc flu? Ms. Jen induc flu is a term from Dr. Atkins, it's what happens to you sometimes when you are in ketosis. When your body is burning your stored fat for fuel instead of carbs that is in your system. You feel sick to your stomach off and on for a day or two, it passes and the pounds do too. You also do not have an appetitate, which is GREAT!! Nice to hear from you again Avilla, we are missing you. Don't work too hard now. Now is your son doing? It's great that you are maintaining your weight thru out this life changing that's going on with you and your family. Amy make sure your meats are not fatty, because that really makes a difference in the weightloss, even tho they are no carbs. You are doing great. How long are you in for with the m/e. I check and I have my DH & my sister check for me just in case I couldn't tell, and they said no. I get the induc flu tho, which is not fun but it does passes. I would just brush my teeth more often and kept me some sf mints and scope around with me. In my experience you can only reach ketosis by limiting your carbs to 20-30 grams or under. I don't count calories. I do watch my fat intake, and try to only eat lean meats. I eat my veggies everyday too, except when I'm doing m/e. When you want to get into ketosis with the limited carb intake, it usually takes about 3-5 days for your body to burn up all the carbs that's in your system, providing that you are not putting extra carbs back into the body.
