Getting Ready for Spring Bootcamp

Recommended Posts

Tann, first off you look wonderful!!! You are doing great girl!!!

Second off, I did my beginner workout with my ropeless jumprope today with the video...And yes it totally kicked my butt and I had to slow down and rest for a few minutes...But, in the 8 minute beginner workout I did 1052 jumps and lost 235 calories...So thats great for me!

I also added 3 runs and 7 walks around the yard (thats all I could do after the jumprope) geez

I also called about the ear stapeling...They said that they have never had anyone have it done that had had lapband before but that if your have the band and still suffer from being hungry then it would deffinately work to supress your appetite and help along the journey...She did not recommend it for the bandsters that dont feel hungry tho (so this is something for me to think about)...I mean, do I eat cuz Im hungry or because its just time to eat a meal...I need to research this one for a few days...

8 oz chocolate whey (breakfast)

medium size tostada crunched up in a bowl (lunch)

dinner (dont know yet)

45 oz Water (so far)

20 oz orange water

20 oz green tea

Seems that I lost .5 lbs yesterday some how and I hope that I dont ever pick it up again...Im working really hard at doing what I should but its just so hard and time consuming

Hello everyone,

Tann, you look gorgeous, what a great picture!!! I want to see the before, they are always so inspirational.

This thread makes me feel better because I know I'm not the only one that has a scale that is stuck (Misery loves company, but at least this company isn't giving up hope!!)

I continue to work out every day, even though my regular work out partners all took off for Spring Break, I've been going to the Rec by myself or getting my family to meet me (I had a great work out yesterday playing raquetball with my 14 year old - after he kicked my butt, I moved to another court with the 8 year old because we were a little more evenly matched!).

I also called my doctor and scheduled another fill for Monday - apparently when she didn't put enough back in after she took it out on Tuesday because I have NO Restriction and I need it so I don't eat everything but the kitchen sink (if I had more self control, I wouldn't need the band!) Fortunately, I don't have to wait for weeks before they can get me back in (glad to be in a small town).

Anyway, enough jabbering about me - I'm ready for Boot Camp to start and for everyone to have much success.

You guys obviously know each other pretty well - do you mind doing little mini bios, so I can get to know my bootcamp buddies better??

Later,

Thanks Amy, Sarg is working on my before pics, they're only head shots at the moment until I can get my other before pics scanned or put on a cd.

I'm 43, married (2 years in April) with three sons who are 17, 14, and 8 - I was a single Mom for 8 years before my eyes were opened to see my soul mate who had been my "friend from church" the whole time I was single. I have been overweight my whole adult life losing and gaining 80 pounds a couple of different times through diet and exercise. Before my band I hit my all time high and felt my all time worst. My life was great but my body was hurting all of the time and I just want my body to feel and look as good as I feel inside. I work at Texas A&M University in the Athletic Ticket Office, so I work a lot of events and crazy hours (that is why I'm here during Spring Break and most people are off) but I've decided to make my work-outs a priority no matter what time of day I need to do them. Work-outs aren't the problem, the food and lack of self-control are. I'm hoping that by making myself accountable to my BootCamp buddies, I can be successful!

Thanks for introducing yourselves, it is fun to find out where everyone is and why they are on this journey.

Blessings to my new friends,

Tann...Yep, 10 years of dispatching...we actually do it all in my office, fire, ems, warrant channel, then we have a north and south channel and answer the 911's...just depending on the day of the week and the luck of the draw of what you are going to be doing the next day...I am just shocked that between the band and my job that I am not totally bald by now...lol...but just 20 more years then I will have my 30 and can retire to the life of luxury...lol...

cdgmom...College Station? My mom use to have to travel there several times a year for her job for some classes...She is the retired assistant fire marshal in the city that I live in...She use to just love those trips...3 boys? you have your hands totally full girl!! lol...My 1 has me running crazy, I couldnt even imagine...lol..but you are 3 blessed of course

My son is just hilarious...He has been sick all week of spring break this week and this is his first real day of feeling good but still has a bad cough...He heard somewhere about starbucks, which I never go to cuz of the prices...But today for some reason or another he said he wanted starbucks coffee for breakfast...So off we go to the only one that I know of in the next town over where I work to get him a coffee...He got the white chocolate mocha with extra cream..He just sat there with a straight back, chest puffed out, sipping his coffee and trying to hold down an adult conversation with anyone that would listen to him...It was just so funny...I figured this was a huge treat for him and told him to not get his hopes up for his daily coffee run....lol

Well, I just finished mowing the backyard and was taking a quick break, now I am off to do some running so my legs can rest before I do my jumprope...No matter how much that rope is trying to kill me, it does burn alot of calories and it seems that I have lost a lb since yesterday since I started using it...So, I will keep it up for a while and see how it goes and if I can last

Avilla...I like the(.....)I use them too. I have 3 boys too, show me some pity too:heh:

I went to the gym early this morning (4:45am couldn't sleep) anyways I did 20 min on the Big E and 10min on the TM, and did weights. On the door of our gym it says: "When you enter Law Enforcement you give up the right to be Unfit." ......So true not just LE but also being a mother, wife, or even a person.:biggrin1:

Stop..... Don't let your son get hooked on Starbucks :( - they should put a warning label on their cups, because that stuff is addicting. I've limited myself to week-ends only, during the week, I drink my coffee at work so I don't need to stop, but on the week-ends my hubby usually will go get me my Venti-sugarfree hazelnut-non-fat-latte on Saturday and on Sunday I get my fix at church (yes, we have a real starbucks in our church lobby) they even got sugar free Hazelnut just for me!!!!!

Lots of fire training up here, sometimes you think that a bomb has gone off on the outskirts of town because of the smoke at the training center - and boy in the summers when the firemen were in town...... Yowza, of course this was only exciting when I was Single - haha :clap2:

So next week when bootcamp officially starts - what will we be expected to do - journal here everyday or what??

Yeah where is Sarg:confused: MIA. I always have alot of cereal on hand and P&J. I buy about 10 boxes at a time, only when it's on sale, tho. And the problem is I AM A CEREAL LOVER, so when I cheat this is like one of my favorite treats...Apple Jacks, Foot Loops, Golden Grahams, Cinnomon Grahams, you see the trend....if its sugary it's for me, and I love fruit flavored oatmeal and so do they. I like the plain too. CARBS CARBS CARBS my weakness:tired :think

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
