Getting Ready for Spring Bootcamp

Recommended Posts

Hang in there, Avilla! If you refuse to give up, it WILL change!! Constantly give your body permission to change & let go. (I feel myself holding back every step of the way.) Start focusing on how it'll feel to break through... picture how you'll look, imagine the congratulations, envision your smile.

For my last plateau, I went on pure meat for a week (Atkins induction plus). I didn't even allow myself 20 carbs a day, I kept it to a bare minimum. It was just for a week, so I didn't get too worried about nutrition, just took my Vitamins & drank a TON of Water. It did the trick for me, though no guarantees!

I found this some time ago, but haven't tried it yet:

Good luck! Most of all, don't give up hope!!

Okay....That 45min weekend challenge like to killed me!!!:faint: Saturday AM I scrubbed my kitchen floor on hands and knee's for the party. Sunday I did an exercise tybo video w/my sister. I thought I would DIE!!! But, I did it:clap2: .

Avilla- that is great news about your son!! I am proud of him too!! Its expecially hard for a child to loose wt. They are exposed to so many more bad food choices candy, ect.:hungry: Maybe you two could set a small goal and get him a reward for making it. That way he can learn to replace something else instead of food as a reward. I wish I had learned that earlier!!

So how did everyone else do in the challenge???

Oh, I forgot to post my challenge results, heh. Probably avoiding it subconsciously. I walked on Sat, but didn't do anything aerobic Sunday. *sigh* Next week!

Do we have a Mon - Fri challenge? :)

Janet, that the diet I'm on right now we call it the Meat and Egg diet we're doing it for 7 days, this is day 4 for me.

Sarg, do you think this is something you could try to get you to losing again. I just checked out the digitalhorsewoman and it may be a bit easier for you to try than what I'm doing this week, what'd you think???

Challenge went well this weekend. I felt it when I got up this morning for sure! The scale didn't move this weekend but at least it didn't go up! I will be starting the M/E fast tomorrow. :hungry: I'm looking forward to it. Tann, I assume that since venison is a lean meat that it's ok? I went to that website you mentioned and checked it out. Anyone else interested in the M/E fast?

Yes Niecy, any type of lean meat is  I just ate 3/4 a can of tuna with a lil mayo. I still eat my skin that is on the chix and turkey, it's the best part:heh: I'll be doing it thru Thurs. and I'll check my weight on Friday morning to see how I did, of course I'll post the results.

Oh, Niecy did you like the site?? It's one of my favorites the people there are sooo nice. I'm in the Century Club, people that have over 100 pounds to lose. My name over there is "tannie" someone was already using "t'ann" so I had to add "ie" to my name:rolleyes:

Tann, I have another question. Do you take (or need) any type of Fiber supplement when you are on the M/E fast? I was wondering how it would affect that function. :)

I don't take a fiber supplement, but I did take 2 exlax pills last nite, lets just say the pills are working. I will be eating my fiber on Friday so I should be alright. Come join us on the "Loosing 100lbs in 2007 thread, it weekly so just go to the one for this week...I'm not getting any work done today either:kiss

Today:

8 oz chocolate whey (breakfast)

3 egg rolls (lunch)

top layer of an omlette from IHOP and 1 slice of wheat toast (dinner)

20 oz orange water

45 oz plain water

40 more oz of honey and lemon green tea

30 minute gazelle workout and about to step on it for another 30 minutes to work off some of my dinner so that I dont feel so bad about it!!

You guys just make my heart smile. Thank you

It is wonderful that we come together so we can get it together.

Tann you are sweet. My eating is so emotionally driven at times that the best thing I can do is exercise. I am anticipating the warmer weather here so I can get back out and walk. When I get on the treadmill I won't do more then 30 min but when I go to the park which is 3.2 miles around. WOOOHOOO I am in heaven knowing that once I start that is no turning back and when I finish I will have completed 3.2 miles. I was doing that everyday after work and the weekends and I am so ready to get back there. It is suppose to get to 50 today. Hopefully I will go walk tomorrow so I can feel better and possibly go 2 times around if someone walks with me.

I am sad, did we get a challenge for this week?

No offical challenge yet, I'm just out walking in our park, the trail is 1.4 miles long. Maybe I'll try for twice around. I can only do 30 min on the treadmill too, it's just boring even with music in my ears and watching a big screen tv:huytsao I do like the Big E tho, but I don't want to be stuck in the gym right now with this beautiful weather we are having. I feel bad for you girls in all that snow and ice:cry

Hi Niecy, wishing you the best on the first day of your m/e this is day 5 for me. How many days are you doing it? Just take it one day at a time.

Hey Tann! I am planning to follow it for 7 days but you know how things go. I have a conference Thursday and the only meats that will be at the dinner are bratwurst and barbecue pork. Not the best options. I wonder which one would be the best to eat? :) I signed up at lowcarbfriends.com yesterday. I got my approval e-mail this morning so when I get caught up here, I plan to hop over there and join the "Losing 100lbs. in 2007" thread. I need to check my calendar at home to double check my weight loss this year so far.

I have a NSV to share! I went to the doctor this morning to get my blood drawn for blood work. (He took me off my cholesterol meds two months ago because my numbers where excellent!) Anyway, he took my blood pressure this morning and it was low! He said that he wanted me to cut my pill in half everyday and soon I would be off it completely!!! That is the only pill I am on and I look forward to having none. WOOHOO!!!

Wow Neicy you are brave and tough for trying it for 7 days, the first time I tried it I only lasted 3 days:faint: This is only my 2nd time trying it. I'm surprised that I have lasted this long:scared: I think the bretwurst (is that sausage?) would be better, the pork would be ok too, as long it doesn't have bbq sause on it. That's the hardest thing when you have to eat at functions which you have no control on the foods that they serve. I'll be looking for you over at LCF, what will be your username, the same?

That is wonderful news on the Dr.'s report, good for you:clap2:

I need to get meat and eggs from the store in order to do it! Can I have pickle relish and mayonase to make tuna salad? ? :) Sorry for all the questions! I want to do it right! If I start tomorrow, I will try to complete 5days, I weigh in Monday Am so we'll see............... :cry

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
