Tanya2244, have you tried drinking diet fruit juice? Welches has a good peach juice and I also like cranberry lemonade. Baby food might stay down easier because its smooth ( other foods are bumpy and may irritate your stomach) and its nutritious. I had the beef in gravy and the chicken in gravy. Also carrots, green Beans, sweet potatoes, and peas. At first I could only eat 1/2of each jar. Then I could one jar meat and one jar veg. Hang in there!

Sheilarae; Thank you for the advice about the baby food. I'll give that a try. I think what I'm so discouraged about is my current limited menu. I've been living on Soup, Jello, yogurt, cheese, watermelon and cantaloupe. Today I was brave and tried something new ... It was a plum. It was on my list of allowed foods, and of course I pealed it first. It went down really well and I feel just fine tonight. I am very tired though, but I did a LOT of walking today. I took my daughter shopping in the mall for back to school stuff. I wore good tennis shoes, but I still had to sit down every once in a while. So, I guess I did ok today. Thank you for your encouragement and friendship. Have a good night.

Tanya I so feel for you! I was sleeved on 6/19/13... I still can not tolerate most meats. About 5 weeks after surgery I had complete regret for one day. That is all I allowed myself. I got online, found high Protein options and started to test new foods out. I found a sugar free custard that really boosted my protein intake! Then went on to try other varieties. pumpkin custard. Apple custard. All sugar free. I use premiere chocolate Protein Shakes and absolutely force myself to sip throughout the day. Egg salad with low fat mayo ( I can not tolerate scrambled eggs, vomit every time). There is so much you can tolerate! You just have to take the time for yourself and find what they are! Good luck, hope to keep in touch, your story sounds like mine.

The custards sound good. I'm not liking solid food very much. I'd rather eat yogurt or cottage cheese. I have a pumpkin pudding I like...1 can pumpkin, 1 can evaporated skim milk, 1 small box sugar-free butterscotch pudding and then cinnamon to taste. Just mix it up. I was going to try it with vanilla Protein Drink but haven't yet.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
