Running Out of Options

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved on June 27. PS-284, Surgery Date/Post liquid Fast-265, Today-248

I'm in Phase 4 and one week from Phase 5, when I can eat just about anything I want. I've been absolutely perfect up until now and I know it's because I'm ONE week from nuts, raw veggies, garden burgers, and bread that I'm ANXIOUS to eat these things now. I'm also running out of options and getting pretty bored. I had a garlic knot yesterday and it was SOOOOOOOOO good. Tolerated it fine.. .and I had some lettuce today.. just a little. But here's what my day consists of usually.

Breakfast is usually a 30 gram whey isolate shake

lunch is a Lean Cuisine or Healthy Choice (don't know if I'm supposed to be eating these or not but when I don't cook, I have to eat something) or baked chicken and fish and a steamed veggie

Afternoon snack

Applesauce or pudding and another shake

dinner

More fish or chicken

steamed veggies

I'm BORED!!! HELP!

I do like Indian. I haven't tried it since I've been sleeved so I don't know how I'd tolerate it.I'll try it though! Thanks!

Ground turkey or chicken or beef? I love the chicken burgers with carmelized onions from Sam's Club ~ I can't remember the brand name but they are delish! I'm not up to that stage yet as I just entered the pureed stage. :-( I even love those black bean burger patties from Costco! They're very tasty! Also, how about grilling veggies after marinating in low cal Italian dressing? I love grilled veggies, especially zucchini & red peppers with just a tiny drizzle of extra virgin olive oil. Hoping I can eat all that stuff soon! Especially before BBQ'ing season is over!

We usually do grilled chicken and veggies at the beginning of the week. Sliced up squash, zuchinni, and purple onion with balsamic vinegar and then grilled has been great! I also eat saltines with sandwich meat and cheese stacked. String cheese. The weight watchers ones only have 50 cals. Hummus. These are just a few ideas of the food I eat a lot! I know it can be hard to come up with different things.

Thanks for all of the suggestions! I made ground turkey and ground chicken Italian meatballs a few days ago, with wheat Pasta and Newman's Own Marinara! Phoenix79... thanks for posting a pic of your Breakfast. That omelet looks amazing. I don't use my Pintrest account, but you've given me a reason to. Thanks again!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
