Tmi alert! Vag fat and peeing!

Recommended Posts

Two questions for those who have lost a significant amount of weight!

1. Do your lady parts shrink? Like the lips and mons pubis? Or do they stay fat?

2.after 3 babies, my bladder leaks a little throughout the day, requiring a panty liner. Will this get better when I no longer weigh 275 lbs?

Yes and Yes!! Both have happened to me. I'm 15 months out and 120# lighter. Good luck with your journey!

That bladder leaking is actually stress incontinence and yes it gets better almost immediatly. I remember being super embarrassed because of always thinking I smelled like a diaper and now no issues at all.

And yes I can tell you your vag is gonna get cute! My hubby never could do oral and now its tight and he loves it. So don't worry you lose weight EVERYWHERE.

My friend who had VSG and I both had problems knowing when we had to pee after surgery. I asked my Dr about that and she told me that the weight of some of our stomachs is so much that it always pressed on our bladder (think pregnancy).

After the sleeve I no longer have that and even though I've lost very few lbs, I have to remind myself to go. So keep that in mind because apparently (at least in my support group) not knowing when to pee is a pretty common surprise post-op.

This is my favorite thread yet!! Laid back humor yet the true facts.

The topic title is definitely an eye catcher :) I no longer have the FUPA (fat above "p" area). I was worried it would be saggy but it along with the lips have both tightened up quite nicely! :D

Omg!! You mean there's a chance my Fupa will go away ?? I thought for sure it would have to be cut off

Mine has! It's great! I do have a friend that had to have hers tucked but she lost almost 200 pounds! So makes sense there!

Sorry to burst OP's bubble but it doesn't always lose the extra fat in that area. I have had Lipo and a labia reduction as I hadn't lost enough fat in this area...................best of luck to you though, maybe age will be a factor.

This has been a topic of convo with me and a few of my sleeved girlfriends...however, has anyone noticed that their "insides" shrunk too??...in the spirit of tmi and all. We've got some pretty "heavy hitters" for s/o's that now feel like they're hitting TOO MUCH. Anybody else experienced this?

OMG, yes. I find myself trying to hold my husband back. Weird that we want it more, but I'm fighting to handle it all in a good way. It's just unbelievable & overwhelming at times. They say be careful what you wish for. Lol....

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
