Im14fun 125 Posted July 30, 2013 I am wondering what everyone eats to feel the most satisfied. By that I mean which foods do you find fill you up and keep you feeling satisfied for long periods of time? Also, do you find that drinking Water 1/2 hour or so after eating flushes foods out of your stomach, leaving you hungry again? I am trying to gauge when to drink my liquids 1 mysleevemylife reacted to this
TwinsMama 483 Posted July 30, 2013 Well I am normally so full once I've had a few bites that I can't imagine drinking before 30 min (normally I wait almost an hour). I have found that eggs (make mini crustless quiche) keep me full. I also find that Atkins meal bars (normally eat 1/2) keeps me full long. 1 Im14fun reacted to this
SerendipityHappens 1,594 Posted July 30, 2013 an ounce of cashews.. pre-sleeve I couldn't even keep them in the house because I would OD on them but now, a measured one ounce portion of cashews FILLS me and I stay full for a long time.... sometimes I'll eat 3-4 cashews on top of a small meal in order to give myself the full factor. It's weird because many other foods that have greater volume than cashews don't fill me half as well! I've also found that I do need to eat until FULL.. not overfull.. but FULL.. If I don't, then I'm just looking for something else in half an hour. So I don't eat to the point of discomfort.. but I eat to the point that ONE MORE BITE would cause discomfort! For me if I start sneezing then I've had one bite too many and I start feeling uncomfortable... on the flip side, if I just eat to the point that I'm no longer hungry, I'm searching for something else within a half hour and I wind up eating more that way. 2 TwinsMama and Getting Wispy reacted to this
Banned member 320 Posted July 30, 2013 Protein! chicken, beef, etc. It keeps me full for a while. I also try to drink a large glass of Water before my meal so that I'm not thirsty after finishing.
Banned member 320 Posted July 30, 2013 If I'm thirsty and hungry at the same time I will always drink the large glass (16 oz) of Water first. Sometimes I can't drink 30 mins after eating because I still have the food in my stomach and it does feel like it flushes the food out way faster. Definitely drink your water before the meal. 1 TwinsMama reacted to this
soocalchic 1,087 Posted July 30, 2013 Dense Proteins for me with raw veggies.. And no drinking for about an hour after I eat.. It hurts if I drink too soon after I eat. 2 Getting Wispy and TwinsMama reacted to this

Jen35 283 Posted July 30, 2013 eggs keep me full for a long time. I really seem to like eggs after the sleeve. chicken works well too, but I've found that eggs settle better for me than meats. I'm only 10 weeks out so maybe that will change. 2 TwinsMama and Im14fun reacted to this
TwinsMama 483 Posted July 30, 2013 Wow, sneezing this is the first I've heard that. I'm a hiccup or belcher (thank goodness not too loud). This is actually kind of unique. I don't know anyone that sneezes. I bet if you get a large enough group of post-ops in a room and feed us, we can literally make the wait staff blush. I know some hiccupers, belchers, gas passers, and now sneezers. I am really cracking up over here.

I'm only 10 weeks out so maybe that will change. Before my sleeve I could only do eggs in quiche that was loaded and had thick crust. Now I'm finding I like egg whites. Still can't do the yolk...part of me thinks that may be mental.

How many can you eat (I'm thinking its done in a muffin tin...maybe the tiny ones?)

Im14fun 125 Posted July 30, 2013 How long does it take you to drink 16 oz? I don't have a problem at all with Water. I can drink that much in a matter of minutes I would say.
Canary Diamond 186 Posted July 30, 2013 I'm a sneezer too! I go into a sneezing fit if I have too much sugar or any dairy. I think it's a form of inflammation and rejection. I'm glad you asked this question. My sleeve has been very picky and I'm finding it difficult to stay full as well. Thank you, OP and subsequent posters, for the good ideas! 4 Im14fun, Getting Wispy, TwinsMama and 1 other reacted to this
