SmilinNC 27 Posted August 3, 2013 I'm an RN on a busy pediatric unit and I'm taking 7 weeks off. Partly for the lifting restriction (you'd be amazed how many kids launch themselves at you and just assume you'll catch them lol) and partly so I can have an eating/drinking routine in place before going back. I suspect I will be sneaking dixie cups of Water between patients to ensure I'm drinking enough. I can totally relate. I am a Peds RN as well 1 ShanRN reacted to this
LisaDM 194 Posted August 3, 2013 My surgeon has an 8 week lifting restriction. I am a physical therapist assistant in a nursing facility so I do a lot of lifting. My company won't allow me to work with that restriction. Even if I only work with high level patients and have an aide to help me. It's a liability I guess. cynthia k 5 Posted August 3, 2013 Hi.... I know we all have our own different experiences, as far as post op. I would suggest being very prepared for your work days. Pack your meals, even taking a bite while you chart helps to get your Protein in. I'm excited for you, I was sooooo nervous right up to being wheeled into the or ( am I doing the right thing?) YES I WAS!!!!! Follow your physicians orders and you will do great 1 Mrs.RRn reacted to this
