I had a huge craving today for a Chipotle burrito! I drank my Protein instead but it sure was hard not to pull in there and buy some burrito to puree! (I'm only a week out)

I really wanted popcorn from the movies the other night...so hard to hear people crunching it:)

Hang in there, we can do this!!

Good job NOT getting the burrito. My son stopped by there and got one with me in the car. Lol. I didn't touch it! And I'm going to the movies this afternoon, starting praying already for strength not to touch the popcorn. Oh how I love and miss popcorn. I have a old fashion Popcorn machine in my kitchen. It's not easy. Great job.

I had cravings at 1 1/2 weeks out from my surgery. Well, I think it was more that I missed EATING. I missed food, chewing and swallowing! I was asking myself "Why did I do this". It felt like I was NEVER gonna eat again. At my 2 week follow up they told me to eat puréed foods and 3 days after my appointment I could start to Folk soft foods. I wanted to kiss my doctor! He made me to so very happy! But I think it was all mental. I JUST MISSED EATING.

After I started the puree's it got better. No more stinking thinking. I STILL have moments when I WANT something I shouldn't. But I remember the CASH I payed out of pocket and remember my goal. Having the surgery is one of the best things I could have ever done for myself.

HANG IN THERE, IT GETS EASIER.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
