Cmt7831 186 Posted July 29, 2013 I am 7 days post op today! I still have pain which I have to take pain meds for. I can last about 6 hrs before the pain is bad enough for them. Is this normal?
marfar7 1,533 Posted July 29, 2013 I'm 2 weeks post op and I just stopped the liquid Vicodin on Sat. So I think it's very normal. For the most part, the surgery is painful (some brave people here find it no more than uncomfortable. To them I say "congrats") and it takes a couple weeks to feel semi normal again. At least I don't have any nausea or fatigue. Good luck! You should start seeing less pain soon. I promise 1 Cmt7831 reacted to this

laurasjourney 24 Posted July 29, 2013 I'm 3 days out and I don't need to take my pain meds anymore. Everyone's tolerance is different. If you need it, take it. 1 Cmt7831 reacted to this
DeniseM 238 Posted July 30, 2013 I took my pain meds round the clock for the first seven days, and then at night for the next few days, but everyone is different- if you are in pain, take your meds! Don't worry about what other people have done, listen to your body. One thing that really helped with my pain was wearing a compression garment around my stomach which I got at my one week post-op visit. It made SUCH a difference in my pain that I was able to stop my pain meds when I was wearing it and only took them at night when I was not wearing it.
