I told my husband I wanted to be sleeved. One year ago I picked up the phone and made my first appointment. I am now 6 months post op, down 86lbs. I started in size 22 pants and 3xl tops. I am now in size 14 pants and almost ready to move to L tops. What a great decision!

Hello Dana,

I'm Dana too (LOL)!!!! Quick question for you being six months out and 86lbs down. Did the weight come off fast or were you losing like 1-2 lbs a week?

You look great I just had to ask.

Dana

In the beginning it was faster. One week 3 lbs the next 6. Then 4 then 5 etc. now I am losing 6-9 lbs a months. I turned 40 in April. At that point (4/19) I was down 53lbs. I only had a week with no weight loss once and that was last month. I have had a couple weeks when I lost less that 1.

Yes. I joined a gym on 3/30 and I work out 4 times a week. I do 45 minutes of cardio each time and then I do 15 minutes of weights. I aim to burn a minimum of 600 calories each time. I also keep my diet to 700 calories a day. 800 on gym days.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
