DonRodolfo 1,416 Posted July 29, 2013 I walked back and forth in my parking lot. Figured if I fell flat on my face, I wouldnt have to far to drag myself into the house!! BarNone 19 Posted July 30, 2013 I attempted my 15 min and guess what?? I only did 9 minutes. BUT.....it's 9 min more than I did yesterday so I am happy!! Tonight on my break at work, I am going to try another 9 min, then that will be 18 min! YOU CAN DO THIS, BAR, YOU REALLY CAN!! Fantastic! BarNone 19 Posted July 30, 2013 So, I was having a pity party earlier today. I am tired, to wrung out, can't do this, can't do that. Had a nice talk on the phone with my sister. Checked my email and found all the wonderful responses to this thread. Had an energy burst and actually got myself to go out for a walk! I did wk 1, day 1 of C25K. I am not running, I just use it for motivation, a timer, and to remind to try to push myself now and again. I also liked to reminder to stretch at the end. Very proud of myself:) For the many people who have responded to this tread I say thank you, for your support and encouragement, and your willingness to share of your own exercise experiences. I've seen so many people on this site beat themselves up because the weight isn't "falling off" and the first thing I ask them is if they weigh themselves every day. Pick one day in the week that works for you and stick with it. Since you won't dare weigh yourself everyday you're ahead of the game - stick to that! Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

playlikeworldchamps 595 Posted July 30, 2013 walking is a perfect start. better to start with something doable and not set expectations too high too soon. try to walk a little more/longer each day. that will give you a sense of accomplishment and also set achievable goals that you will feel success and want to do more. try Leslie sansones walk away the pounds videos if you can't leave the house. they are a great start. you do 1 then 2 then 3 miles and can use arm weights too. when that's get too easy you can move on to even harder workouts! But it is what it is. I hope you had a good walk today! I was dog gone tired today. My sister took my mom to her CT scan, my dad was doing okay...so I slept....and slept. I am three weeks out of surgery and still positively exhausted. I spent the entire day sleeping. Woke up at 4, and considered going back to sleep, but decided I better get up and drink some Protein instead. Then I visited with the family got dinner ready and retired to my private area. There I found your post, and while I had considered walking before dinner, I didn't do it. So here I was all relaxed and I get to reading your post. You did fantastic! I commend you on splitting it up and making it doable. And thank you for the kick in the pants. First I was gonna go for a walk, then I wasn't because Mosquitos are bad here right now. Then I just figured that I started this thread for support and accountability and that meant I had a responsibility to follow through! So...off I went. Did C25K same as yesterday. Harder this time only because I have this unending nausea at times, and I spent 5 minutes heaving at the end. But I live on a farm so no one witnessed my display and screw'em if they had! I did my walk, I don't get far in distance but I did the full 25 minutes and stretched. Amen for all that. Thanks for being out there, for working on your own fitness changes and for checking in!
