I got a band in June 2010. I did great the first 4 months! Then it started to slow down then I started constantly throwing up and only thing could eat was Soup. I went on like this for 2 years. I found out the band had slipped. I had a few options to correct this: remove the band and try losing again on my own, remove the slipped band and get another one, or do a conversion to the sleeve. The sleeve was not an option when I got the band, so I was nervous about doing that. I researched it and asked questions. I wish the sleeve had been an option when I first choose to go the surgery route! My starting weight was 277 with the band I went down to 230 and then gained 20 off and on in the 2 years. So with the sleeve I started at 250 and am now at 220. I had the sleeve in November 26, 2012. I was doing great again!!! Then in May, I plateaued again!! I have not lost since!! Any one have any suggestions?

My nutritionist told me that when you plateau, you have to increase caloric and Protein intake... Are you exercising?

You are probably eating too slow. give yourself only 15 minutes to eat and then put your food away.. patients who go from band to sleeve often fail because they are used to taking a longer time to eat and with a sleeve you will be able to eat more if you don't change your eating habits

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
