What about all the people that have other health issues? They could have cancer or something else that prohibits them from eating much. I find restaurants can and will be accommodating. The first thing should be to get what you want in the portions you want and the second consideration should be price. I don't much care about the price, but getting the right kind of food in a portion that I can eat is my goal. I don't share my medical information with anyone, let alone a restaurant. It isn't their business WHY I can't eat as much.

If I can't find what I really want or need on the menu then I know I need to make a different choice of restaurants next time. Just my opinion. When I go out to eat its for social reasons so I'm willing to pay that cost.

I agree with Barbara.

The first time I went to a restaurant after my LB I ordered just a small cup of Soup. My husband explained to the waitress that I couldn't eat much.(Bless his heart, he was trying to be kind to me)

It was somehow uncomfortable. I asked him not to do it again.

I eat out all the time. Probably 5 dinners a week. When I order an appetizer or just an empty plate to share from others, if I get a strange look I just say, "I don't eat much" or "I'm not a big eater." I've never had to explain anything more than that. I'm not opposed to explaining more than that; I've just never had to. As to kids meals, they're generally so unhealthy that I don't even let my kids order them!

Barbara465 - I'm inquiring, as there are many places that I go now, that I will CONTINUE to go to after my band. Rodzio resturants, Japanese resturants and few buffets. I'm asking about the card, would like to have it since there is a 'set cost' per adult, lets say $60. Whereas a child may only be $17.50. I may be on my way to getting skinny....doesn't mean on my way to being rich - so any little bit helps. I'm not proud.

As far as someone with cancer - my father had throat cancer. He now lives with an extremely narrow esophagus and no saliva, making meals out difficult. Resturants DO make exceptions. Well...the better ones anyway.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
