Surgery early Monday.. 2 days... OMG!!! What if I hate it??? What if I have complications?? What if I don't wake up??? What ifs are scathing the crap out ta me.

I miss food!! I have been on liquids since the 19th and after surgery for 2-3 weeks... I have lost 11lbs which I am thankful for. I am now under 300 :) less to lose after!

I have had major constipation... Sorry tmi and I have been taking stool softeners the last 3 nights... I finally went yesterday and it was horrible.... Now I'm worried I will have this problem afterwards too...

Sorry totally venting. These days on liquid are making me cranky and tired. I am getting over 120gms of Protein.. I have to have at least 110... I don't think I'm going to be able to get that much in after. I'm scared to lose my hair and my muscle...

Thanks for reading... I know from reading everyone else's post that this is normal... But I don't feel normal!!!

Height 5'11"

Highest weight 322

Starting weight 307

Current weight 296

Goal weight 176??? Maybe!!!

Hey girlie :)

Just remember why you are doing this. It's time to start taking care of yourself again. I spent to many years consumed in grief and wasn't really living anymore.. You owe it to yourself and your family to achieve Heath and happiness!

Yes I miss food, but what did food ever do for us really?

Yes hair loss, Constipation and all that jazz happens... But I still wouldn't change it for the world :)

That is a fabulous question. food got me fat... But sometimes I feel like it got me thru some super rough times.. But still not a friend. I have now found that talking to my best friend works the same as shoving food in my mouth :)

I have so much support. Here, my family, my friends... Some say you aren't that big you don't need it... I say you don't know how unhealthy I am and how I look in the mirror disgusts me... :)

I know I am doing this for ALL the right reasons. I have had 5 other surgeries one HUGE one that I did well from.

Thanks for reminding me laura-ven

You can do it!! Everyone has those last minute jitters right before surgery, I'll admit I had them up until I went to sleep. I started crying as they wheeled me back for surgery, BUT I would not change what I did or how it has changed my life in just the short few weeks its been since surgery. Just remember you are doing this for you!! Good luck

I was scared too. Esp. scared I wouldn't wake up. I cleaned house like a mad woman and did lots of other stuff to get ready for surgery.

I will be thinking of you.

Hey my surgery date is on the 29th and I have all of those same concerns, but if its my time to go I trust in God and I'm willing to go where ever I'm called .

I have had some great pre op weight loss results almost 30lbs ,and I day and half to go. I will keep you in my prayers when I go to bed. I'm so mad at myself for my health choices but I do understand it was all my fault and no one else. I know this surgery is best for me because I have been that loyal person to diet and eat properly work out, I paid for high priced foods like Nutrisystem and even had better success doing it naturally but I gained it all back. So I'm great at dieting but trying to keep it off I'm not good at that at all.

My surgery is tomorrow as well!! Good luck to us! I have all the same things running through my head at this point but I am also thinking about all of the things my weight keeps me from doing!

Keep your eyes on the prize!!

Instead of the negative focus on the positive :) Imagine where you will be in just 3 months from now!

Good luck sleeve sister <3

Good luck ladies!!! I will be thinking of y'all tomorrow! Everything you're going through and will go through will be so worth it! In a few months you will feel somewhat normal and have the rest of your life to live healthy! How freakin exciting is that?!?!

I'm not as nervous because I watched someone I know go through it about 6 weeks ago. I trust my surgeon, but the only thing I'm nervous about is sitting up afterwards. I had a lot of trouble with that after my gallbladder surgery, but the sleeve is double the incisions. I know it will be worth it. I just hope the first week isn't similar to my gallbladder surgery!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
