GoochMonster 64 Posted July 26, 2013 everyone is different, ask your Surgeon or NUT 2 TwinsMama and MIJourney reacted to this
MIJourney 490 Posted July 26, 2013 Agree check with Dr or NUT. I had to go from caf to Decaf during the 2 week prior but was allowed to continue decaf coffee and decaf tea right after surgery. I pretend it's caffeine 1 ejsfanatic reacted to this
Ms.AntiBand 2,984 Posted July 26, 2013 Depending on your dr/nut instruction.. But I never stopped drinking caffeinated coffee (black w/sf Torani flavoring) 1 notmeanymore reacted to this
Pixie Dust 526 Posted July 26, 2013 Every Doc & NUT will tell you differently. I went thru one program that said no caffeine ever again & the program I ended up going with (& not for this reason but I'm happy about it anyway), says I can go back to caffeine after 6 weeks (I think) but that Decaf is fine for now. I'm actually liking decaf okay but I know I'll eventually want a little cup of my favorite drink each morning again! Not too soon tho, I can wait.
TwinsMama 483 Posted July 26, 2013 My Dr wanted us to have no caffeine after the sleeve. I was always a decafe girl though. However, now that I'm sleeved I don't desire coffee at all. I go with the ask your Dr response.
notmeanymore 629 Posted July 26, 2013 Depending on your dr/nut instruction.. But I never stopped drinking caffeinated coffee (black w/sf Torani flavoring) I also never stopped drinking caffeinated coffee. I enjoy Decaf though cause its the taste not the caffeine for me. I drink a lot more tea than coffee though and it has caffeine in it too sometimes.
greygirl903 45 Posted July 26, 2013 I was able to have Decaf coffee the day after my surgery while i was still in the hospital. I can tolerate it as well as I could before surgery. I guess it depends on what your body can handle and if your dr. says it's ok.
Nursebarbie 392 Posted July 26, 2013 My doc said I could have regular coffee so I did. And it was awful. I was so sick all day. Can't even stand the smell of coffee and I was a coffeeocholic before. Weird.
Nadiyyah 36 Posted July 26, 2013 Thanks everyone I will ask. It was a question I thought I should ask. I don't mind Decaf though I actually like it even my decaf tea.
roundy 14 Posted July 27, 2013 What is the reason we can't have caffine? Just curious.
Nursebarbie 392 Posted July 27, 2013 Its an irritant to the stomach and dehydrating. Some have no problem and some do like me. Miss my coffee.< /p>
