Beckh86 40 Posted July 26, 2013 I have no idea if this is caused by the surgery or not but my knees are KILLING me! I can't even lay on my side in bed because it hurts so bad to have my knees touching each other. I had to get up and move several times during my class tonight because I had a terrible throbbing pain in my knees. I have seen a lot of people post about hip pain but not so much the knees and I haven't been able to find any answers as to why this may be happening...??? I checked my capillary refill and I do not appear to be dehydrated but I did increase my Fluid intake... Any ideas as to what's causing this...??
Dignity 26 Posted July 26, 2013 My knees alwsys ache if I am not getting enough salt in my diet...ie drinking too much Water snd flushing out minersls and nutrients the body needs. I'd adk my doc if it persists.
Pixie Dust 526 Posted July 26, 2013 **Raising hand wildly** Ooooohhh....me, me, me!!!! I do normally have painful knees due to arthritis but since my surgery, the pain has been absolutely ridiculous! Exactly like you mentioned too, can't keep your legs one on top of the other if I sleep on my side because of the knee pain! What in the world is this from??? I have 2 follow up appts this coming week, I hope I remember to ask at both appts what could be causing this?

Believe it or not, movement is best for arthritis to keep the joints lubricated. Warm Water is ultimate exercise. If you have swelling on your knees, talk to your PCP about prescribing Voltaren gel1%. My arthritic patients love it. As long as u r not allergic to NSAIDS...true allergy. grrwuff 3 Posted July 31, 2013 Just great, I have osteoarthritis in both knees, and being off NSAIDS before surgery has made it very difficult to walk. I can't imagine it getting worst. I thought WLS was supported to magically make our knee pain go away, because we won't be carrying around excess weight.
