Canary Diamond 186 Posted July 26, 2013 Has anyone else experienced this? I'm almost two weeks post-op and there's a hard, cylindrical lump in the back of my hand that hurts like hell. It also seems to have turned (used to be parallel to my fingers) and migrated down to my wrist. Do you think it's possible something got left in there when they took the IV out? It really frickin' hurts!
Corky6984 134 Posted July 26, 2013 That happened to me in my arm after my gallbladder surgery and it went away. After getting sleeved, my IV spot was sore for 2 weeks. The vein it was inserted in is now hard. I never paid much attention to it before surgery. I was pissed they put it in my hand! LoL! Hope the lump goes away soon! Better safe than sorry! 1 kailie reacted to this
LipstickLady 25,682 Posted July 26, 2013 Totally normal. Put heat on it and it will go away slowly. I have this happen almost every time I have an IV. 1 Corky6984 reacted to this
Sydney Susan 333 Posted July 26, 2013 I had it for 2 weeks, not 4. Sounds like an infection... Best to get it checked.
