Now I'm worried...I bought some grape frost and alpine punch (just an 8 pk of each) for later on. Hopefully, I can choke it down :)

Agreed. I couldn't even finish one bottle. Disgusting.

I had planned on using Isopure clear RTD for the first week after surgery but had a very strange reaction: I got very flushed soon after drinking it and within 12 hours my fingernails (I have thin "eggshell" nails) began peeling. After the first bottle, I didn't make the connection but after the third I stopped drinking it and the symptoms went away. My hubby had to finish the rest of the bottles I had purchased (took him a month...)

It's the WORST ever. I tried a few pre-surgery. gag. I bout a CASE of the coconut as it wasn't as bed as the others but I am 5 days out and haven't even gotten through ONE bottle, and I mix it with (real) coconut Water, regular Water and some white grape juice.

I know I am not getting enough Protein (about 20g/day) should I be worrying? I know it will be WAY easier once I am on full liquids (10 more days).

Im on pre op liquids... surgery is in 8 days

Your taste buds will be completely different after surgery. I will eat things now that you could have never convinced me to in the past.

Lots of people like Isopure, but I didn't. My fav Protein drinks were GNC Gold Standard whey in vanilla, which I drank plain or mixed with Starbucks Via Decaf Italian Roast, or powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chicken. Not nuts about the chicken, but it sat well and was a nice break from sweet drinks. I didn't like the Unjury Plain. I could taste it in everything I tried it with.

I tried the orange pineapple banana and the grape. The first sip was OK, then yuck..... horrible. I've got 10 more assorted bottles. I guess post op I'll convince myself it's medicine to help heal my sleeve.

I found a way to make it tolerable. Mix it half and half with Water. Then it's not half bad (or only half good)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
