MWilliams42 28 Posted August 12, 2013 I was sleeved July 13, I am down 18 lbs from weight day of surgery!!! I am having a hard time with getting Protein in and the 64 oz of liquid per day... I cannot drink isopure!!! Oh my it is horrible! I was told about the nectar and my it is great so far! I also drink 2 oz of muscle milk per day if I can. I can tolerate Water, ice, Popsicles, and nectar well but broths and any cream Soups cause diarrhea and I feel a bit sick to my stomach for a little while so I'm stuck in the clear liquid stage and should be in my full liquid stage.. I am not really complaining about the fact that I can't eat "drink" any foods well without hitting the John shortly after bc heck I've lost 18 lbs in less than two weeks... YAY! I'm just concerned about not being able to tolerate the actual "food" part of my meal plan... This is something that I have been scared of too. The "real" food, what if I like what I used to, what if I just can't stop...but I have added, slowly, some healthy choices and still cannot finish 4 oz of food! The "real" food' date=' what if I like what I used to, what if I just can't stop...but I have added, slowly, some healthy choices and still cannot finish 4 oz of food![/quote'] Well tomorrow marks one month and I'm a bit sad bc I was expecting 30-50 lbs to be gone away but I haven't even hit -30 lbs my Dr had my hopes up bc he had said the people that need to loose 150 or more lbs would loose faster and so far I'm slow and that sucks cause I still need to loose 160 lbs!! I'm down 24 lbs since day of surgery (July 13) I hope I have just hit a slow spot and it kicks back into gear soon!! I'm now in the stage of more foods like eggs and tuna salad but I am still having issues with eating, again not complaining cause I'm glad I can't eat normal!!!! However I'm regurgitating just about everything and I usually don't get in more that two ounces at a meal! I do want to point out that I don't cheat on my foods ever, I still feel like I'm not getting enough liquid or Protein in bc of the regurgitation! I did contact my dr and he said I need to start taking Prilosec OTC for a couple of months to see if that helps! I've started exercising more but he still doesn't recommend ab exercises I hope I can get back on track and hit my first goal b4 Christmas!!!!! Fingers, toes, legs and arms crossed Height: 5 ft 8.5 in Weight day of surgery: 333 lbs Weight now: 309 lbs First Goal I want to reach by December 13th 2013: 225 lbs or less!! Lose_it_Lauren 0 Posted August 13, 2013 I'm getting pretty down....only down 14 lbs 3 weeks out. I have 100 LB's to lose total, but based on some folks I watch on Youtube I feel like I'm really below par. Last week the doc told me to STOP working out (walking 60 min/day) and up my calories. I'm having about a 1,000 cal deficit /day now...but still not really dropping anything (only 0.8 lbs this week)... Anyone else in a stall??? How do I jump start it? I was just in tht as well but @ 2 weeks & just finally saw the scale move again on saturday. I am now 3 weeks & 4 days out. Stay positive!!!! Just keep drinking your fluids & make sure you get your Protein in. That is the advice I was given when I was getting very upset about not seeing the weight coming off. Also do you take your measurements? Lots of times whem the scale is not moving you are probably losing inches. More good advice I was given. Do not forget that you just had major surgery as well & that your body is aslo still trying to heal while at the same tome lose weight. Relax & give it time maybe it is just trying to catch up with the weight you have lost already. Be proud of the weight you have lost already & look forward to the weight you will continue to lose on your journey to a happier healthier you!!!! 14lbs in 3 weeks is awesome, you are doing great!!!! Wishing you the best on your continued journey!!!! 1 MWilliams42 reacted to this

The bright side of things s the thought that you can't over eat, that's the part I love. After just a little bit I'm not hungry. Keep on the right track and your body will catch up. 1 devine.adon reacted to this

I'm feeling like you a bit down about it! Trying hard to stay positive ! Hope it isn't long for us both!
devine.adon 49 Posted August 13, 2013 I went to GNC and talked to the lady working there and she's a big fitness buff!! I bought some Quest bars (the white chocolate raspberry is Devine) these are only for a Meal Replacement at Breakfast for me. I also purchased some RTD Protein Shakes that she the recommended they are higher in Protein and lower in carbs and calories than the muscle milk, They are called total Lean, Lean shake. I sure hope my weight starts dropping again soon!!! I know I shouldn't complain but this was a major surgery and I had it for one reason and that was to loose weigh and to lose it quicker than normal... Cause that's what I was told will happen! My Dr.s PA told me yesterday that if you are not eating every three hours you will not loose like you should. I went on a diet in the middle of Feb. and lost 50 pounds before surgery for a total now of 75 pounds in six months. I lost real quick after surgery all my weight then nothing. Well I hope it starts up again soon or it's back to all liquid diet, maybe that the secret all liquid diet then you won't have to have surgery. Knock you out hit you in the stomach a few times put some band aids on you and tell you liquids only. Oh we'll.
devine.adon 49 Posted August 14, 2013 My Dr says only three meals per day and maybe a light snack if needed but lots of liquid! I am never hungry so I know it's working as far as the hunger it's just the weight isn't coming off like expected. Today marked exactly one month since day of surgery and I've lost 32 lbs since day of surgery!!!! So the scale went down again finally!!! 1 ElaineB reacted to this
SkinnyScrapper 57 Posted August 14, 2013 I also had a hernia repaired although I didn't even know I had one ( I am not having any acid reflux). Crazy thing is since this hernia repair I can breathe easier and clearer and my husband says I no longer snore at all ?! Totally quiet sleeper now. Ditto for me! At that rate, you would lose 300 pounds in a year. That's an NFL linebacker. In a year!!!!

Are you saying unexpected because its so fast? 32 pounds in a month is more than a pound a day. I can't imagine that it would be possible to lose any faster than that unless you cut off a part of your body. A large part, like a leg:)
NellieBean 70 Posted August 14, 2013 Second follow up today and I found out I also had a hernia repair which explains that one spot that still aches from time to time. I was put on soft foods, which is awesome, had salmon tonight and it was so awesome to eat food that looked like it is meant to look. I do not weigh myself daily so I found out I have lost 38lbs since I was sleeved on the 17th of July, So shocked and so glad I started this journey. 1 ElaineB reacted to this
