wildlyme 42 Posted September 1, 2013 I'm per-op and my friend just had her surgery 8/29. Her pain was badddddd. Even in the hospital! My dr said I'd be on a morphine drip but her dr gave a shot every three hours which obviously wasn't good enough to deal with her pain. What pain med were you all on in the hospital? And what were you sent home with? 1 DagsboroDebbie reacted to this

flyme_places 99 Posted September 1, 2013 They had me on morphine at first then the first night switched me to a liquid pain med. I think it started with an L. I was blessed the only real pain I had was gas the first day then just the pulling pain (which wasn't bad).

SharonAdams 0 Posted September 2, 2013 I was sleeved July 1 and am able to take down solids, although, one of my challenges, as prior to surgery is eating too fast. Instead of waiting a few minutes between bites, I may eat three fully chewed bites and then immediately have extreme pressure type discomfort in my stomach. often, it leads to involuntary vomiting. The shakes, puddings, soft foods do not pose problems. I am quite discouraged. If one could live on shakes, no problem. I also have hunger pains, despite Prilosec and Tums. Although hungry, I am starting to hate the thought of eating anything.
SoHappy 1 Posted September 2, 2013 Switch to liquid vitamins' date=' I know I did the chewables were the pits made me sick. Been fine ever since.[/quote'] You are so right. The Vitamins were making me feel horrible and I had no clue. Now that i have been off them for a couple of days I feel like a new person. I wonder how many people are feeling so horrible and the Vitamins are the cause.
trillian135 11 Posted September 2, 2013 SharonAdams: I am in exactly the same boat! I eat too fasto and have thrown up 3 times. But it was better than feeling like I was having a heart attack! I have hunger pangs too, but try to fill up on Protein shakes. The thought of eating food makes me queasy...
