Second follow up today and I found out I also had a hernia repair which explains that one spot that still aches from time to time. I was put on soft foods' date=' which is awesome, had salmon tonight and it was so awesome to eat food that looked like it is meant to look.

I do not weigh myself daily so I found out I have lost 38lbs since I was sleeved on the 17th of July,

So shocked and so glad I started this journey.[/quote']

Congratulations on the awesome weight loss. I had my surgery on the 11th of July and have only lost 25 pounds, I have hit a plateau and have not lost any for a little bit. The PA told me that you need to eat every 3 hours no matter what but as a farmer it is hard to eat like that, I eat when I can but I can eat anything I want. I was eating solid food by the second week. Sorry to ramble on but keep up the great work.

Hi sleeved 23 July. First night was terrible, could not stop vomitting, ony started drinking after 2 days and no problem scince. Ive lost almost 30kg. I struggle to drink enough and if I take more than about 3 easpoons of food I get a mild pain, I have ome to realise that if I eat only half that amount and feel more comfortable.

Wow! Isn't 30kg equal to 66lbs? That is crazy for just three weeks!

i was sleeve on July 8th. My doctor told me to eat anything I want and to stop my Protein Shakes two weeks ago. I'm still eating healthy. I've lost 30lbs since surgery but I haven't lost anything in a week. Is this normal? feeling discouraged.

I was sleeved on July 15th and so far I am doing well. I am still struggling with my liquid goal of 80 ounces and Protein goal of 100grams

My problem is that I am still in liquid stage and I do from time to time have what i feel is hunger pains..I thought that would not happen for months.

Wow! Those are extraordinary quantities. 90% + all sleevers are 64oz daily Water intake and 42g-80g daily Protein. Are you sure of your post op instructions?

Not surprised you're discouraged. With a dr that says eat anything you want? Wow! In my opinion I don't agree with that advice at all!

Wow! I cannot believe some of you from early july arenon liquids still. I was sleeved july 25th and the doc cleared me for normal food. He said you can tell what the inside looks like by looking on the outside. If your stitches are healed then your stomach is the same.

My physician's asst at my two week follow-up just said the opposite. She said that we can't see the stomach to see how it is healing an to bit go by how well I am healing externally. She cited my incision pain as proof. My outer incisions look really good but my inner incision still smarts! She said it isn't healed as much as the external ones. I have to view my stomach the same way. I am supposed to be on thick liquids but I am on purees and soft because I am already intaking 100+ oz of liquids and over 60 geams of Protein and still feeling hungry. Today I had tuna twice and pureed a can of peas that I finished throughout the day and a can of Tomato Soup made with Water and I was satisfied with no Protein shakes. Tbh, I needed a break from those!

I had surgery the same day as you, and I still haven't lost 20 lbs. I'm at 19.4 but it has gotten so slow. I am also a farmer, well, a farmers wife.

I guess everyone is different. I am only 28 though and I had no pain anywhere after day 4 post op. My scars are almost not visible at this point.

I've finally started on REAL food, healthy choices of course, I have found that I love to cook, and I have a family that still needs to eat! It was nice to have something NOT mushy to eat! I feel great, been religiously walking and getting in as much exercise as I can! I've found the Protein choice that is easiest for me is fish or shrimp...chicken is still a little iffy! But that's alright fish is great and besides what I cook for me, lasts all week long!!! I'm really starting to like this whole new me! ;)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
