My NUT's weight goal for me & mine

Recommended Posts

So I was just wondering some things, my NUT weight loss goal for me was to get to 180bs which I'm 10lbs away! Yay! BUT... I still feel "large" like I should lose more weight. Everyone is always asking me what's " my goal"? Or telling me you've lost enough... don't lose anymore... you could still lose more than that... people who've never been where we are and their opinions are driving me Crazy! I have NO idea & sometimes I think that's ok but it's still very frustrating , when am I going to feel like what ive accomplished is enough for me? Don't get me wrong I'm very happy w/my progress just frustrated. Anyone else feel this way?

Oh and a really hate when someone finds out I've had this surgery and say "oh well I know someone who had this done and got FAT again" wtf how's that supposed to make me feel? Translation: Oh hey fat girl ur gonna get fat again! Or how about "oh,I known someone who knows someone who had weight loss surgery and they died!" WTH! I feel like I should say to them " oh yea I'm dieing slowly j/forgot to mention that! What's wrong w/people? Or are you thinking I'm gonna die? People are cray cray : \

Haha! I hate when people say that too!! Or you know your going to get loose skin.... :o

Duh!!

Well goal weight. My doctor didn't give me one.

I picked a number that is in the healthy BMI range. I'd say if you want to lose a bit more and you have it on you go for it. But at the end of the day it's about comfort level, and you sound pretty happy so 10 more pounds might be perfect.

I'd say go with what makes you feel happy in yourself. Have you had the one where they say you cheated by having the operation. I got that one last week from a lady who had lost 3 stone dieting on her own (she'd put it all back on mind and I was noticeably slimmer than her)

I wasn't given a goal weight either. I figure play it by ear, I'll know where I want to be when I get there. I too chose from a chart of healthy weights for my height. I consider it to be a ballpark figure. Its just a number, how I feel and how clothes fit mean a lot more.

I too was never given a goal weight. I never even spoke with a nutritionist or dietician, come to think of it. I chose the weight that put me at a BMI of 22 - middle of healthy range, which for me, at nearly 5'3" is 123 lbs. However, I'll be thrilled when I get into the 150s! I trust that my body will know when it's done losing weight, assuming I'm letting it do its job by exercising, avoiding fast food, soda, etc. and not packing my sleeve to capacity at every meal.

Do you feel like you were meant to be smaller?

I have 10 pounds to meet the goal of my Nut which is to hit 185 I get that all the time you should stop you've lost enough you kno what I say to those ppl I won't be the first person 5'8 and thin and then I laugh .. I think imma go 10 pounds under her goal but honestly I feel good and goals weights just make you feel you succeed by numbers but you've already have by taking the first step to this journey ..make yourself happy I fired my nut in the beginning because she told me I couldnt put mayo or Pickle Juice in my tuna I said forget that I gotta do what's best for my lifestyle .. Congrats on your wieght loss

I'm not sure how small I should be,I was 145 when I met my husband (when I was 16,which was 4 ever ago, I was a kid) I think I'd like myself around 165 but a mid range healthy BMI would be 145. My husband says when I get my Tummy Tuck (which I do want to do, but not too soon) that I'd probably weigh close to what I want it's just the excess skin that's weighing me down. He's so supportive I'm very lucky to have a husband who loves and supports me plus size or small!;)

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
