Has anyone used this company associated with Dr. Garcia? I've mainly talked with r4ac patients and Alma, but I've spoken with Alisha from Tijuana Bariatrics and like her a lot :) any reviews?

I had posted a questions just like this about a week ago. I see a lot of great reviews about Dr. Garcia but have seen nothing about Alisha. She has been very nice to work with so far but I want to make sure that everything is on the up and up. Has anyone used her and Tijuana Bariactrics directly?

Does it concern anyone when surgeons are booking through multiple coordinating companies?

How do they all keep track of the surgeons schedule? They're competitors, not coworkers.

Hey Jesser! I had this same exact question. I went ahead and asked her why there was NOTHING about her or Tijuana Bariactrics anywhere. She said that this is a new practice that Dr. Garcia has created. He is still working with Ready4Achange but wanted to have his own as well. Alisha was a patient of his and now works for him. They have only been taking patients through Tijuana Bariatrics for about a week. She has been great so far. She is always availible by phone and returns emails pretty quickly. My two friends and I are scheduled for surgery on August 28th so I will let you know how it goes. Hopefully without a hitch!

It's the exact reason I prioritized a surgeon with an in-house coordinator. I guess it works, as a great deal of doctors do work with more than one company. I just wasnt comfortable with it.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
