Everything makea me nausueous

Recommended Posts

:( I'm cleared for puréed and soft foods as of Monday and Monday night I had amazing baked grouper and green Beans which went DOWN good but I felt pressure nausea all night. Then I had a wedge of laughing cow cheese, that went down great and no problems later. Had a ton of Popsicles because they cause no problems either, liquids all go down even orange juice. Tried tuna casserole minus noodles yesterday, tuna, cream of Soup and cooked peas. Very soft very mushy, and the first bite made me nauseous. No throwing up just dizzy/gurgly ick. Then I tried cottage cheese (my favorite!!!!) tastes very blah so I just wasn't interested in it, going to try later with added flavor. And right now I'm trying to eat chicken noodle soup (was okay'd by my doc as long as I mush the noodles in my mouth and not swallow whole) and I can't get over this dizzy tummy feeling. I haven't eaten ANYTHING but a glass of Water and a Popsicle today since 6 am. It's now 1:20pm. I KNOW I'm feeling partial hunger pains because they go away when I eat. But I can't push past this nausea to satisfy myself because I don't want to throw up. :(

When I was in the soft stage, my nutritionist recommended things like Greek yogurt, refried Beans with salsa, sugar free fat free pudding made with skim milk and 1/3 cup dry fat free milk for added Protein.

Take it slow and you'll find a routine that you can build on it. I know you haven't had real food in awhile but don't try to jump farther ahead than you are ready for.

Don't fret, the excessive restriction is typical for a lot of us. Only now at 9 months postoperative can I finish a whole yogurt, eat an egg, etc. its not fun, but it beats obesity any day. My advice is to listen to your body. If you can't eat something now, try in a couple of weeks. Know that every bite of food we consume after WLS must count. Eat too fast, too much, things your tummy isn't ready for, and you will not feel well. push your plate aside, eat more later if you have to. Take it slow! One day or even one meal at a time. Some days I can only live I've bite at a time, seriously, but in the long run doing fantastic now. Be kind to yourself it is a journey not a quick fix

These are all things that I had last week on my "full liquid to puréed" stage. Had the same outcome with them as well.

I'm three months out now, almost four! Oh my! I was pretty sick the first few days after surgery. I threw up, basically anything I put in. Except for sugar free Popsicles. My surgeon said as long as I got Protein in, my Vitamin and Water, he wasn't worried about the food. Just by reading your post, it sounds like some things are fine, but other things are. Just keep a record of what makes you feel sick and what seems to be ok. Everyone is different, Orange juice would kill me..and I wasn't allowed anything Tomato related for 8 weeks. Acidity was the reason. I keep things easy, I only drink water, and decaffeinated tea. I keep sugar free/fat free pudding in the fridge. Cottage cheese like you is one of my favorites. Just go slow, and know this will pass. One thing I've learned over this process, I didn't need as much food as I thought I did to survive!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
