jody521 7 Posted July 24, 2013 Im being sleeved on the 30th. Im really freaking out I read where people cant swallow anymore, I hope things go well but having my doubts. Did anyone else feel this way? ? ?
jody521 7 Posted July 24, 2013 And how do you overcome the fear?
JoiaRox 430 Posted July 24, 2013 You overcome the fear by researching and trying to get all of your questions answered through your doctor (when possible). Complications do happen, but are rare. I chose to have a positive outlook and accept what was coming, because getting sleeved and losing the weight had a much lower risk of harming me than carrying the excess weight did. I'm now almost 7 weeks post-op, had a speedy textbook recovery, and am slowly, but surely, losing the weight! 2 jody521 and brad360west reacted to this
Cheer Mama 166 Posted July 24, 2013 Take a deep breath. For technical questions, ask your doctor. It is normal for anxiety before surgery. Please remember that ANY surgery carries riskes. I had lots of what ifs before I had surgery. I think many of us have been there. For me the pro out weighed the con. Good luck! 2 brad360west and jody521 reacted to this

Arts137 1,811 Posted July 24, 2013 Everyone... Ask questions and research. The complications are infrequent. They happen, but not too often. 1 brad360west reacted to this
notime 340 Posted July 24, 2013 Anxiety is normal. Remind yourself of why you need the surgery. I had looming health issues. After surgery, my health issues have been resolved and all of my medical test results are within the normal range. Focus on your reasons. 1 jody521 reacted to this
