So I am entering my 5th week post op and have felt like I have turned the corner. Drinking is easier, eating is better, although still microscopic amounts. What's that up there ahead....possibly a light at the end of the tunnel? For all you vets out there, when did you feel like you turned the corner? To my fellow late June sleevers, how r you doing?

I'm starting my 5th week as well! I started regular food today and it was amazing!! First time I chewed in 6 weeks. I had salmon and some sweet potato! I had more salmon for dinner with some low fat ricotta! I also had some fruit that was in fruit juice! Everything went down great and I feel wonderful! It's so nice to eat again, and it feel good to just eat 3-4oz and be done! Hmmmm what to eat tomorrow!! Haha

Yes, I have also been worried about that same concern even though I'm living off of Protein Shakes and Water. I'm only one week out but peeing has been an issue for some reason. My doctor says I am fine and I've had an ultrasound of my liver and spleen and all that good stuff and nothing is wrong. It just seems to be more difficult that it used to be and I don't know why. I'm glad I'm not the only one going through that. Best of luck to you!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
