What are the most effective workout techniques to losing weight? The pounds come off quicker if you're active. I need to be more active.

I'm going to start Rockin Body and do the modified version... I've also been doing Wii Fit and skipping anything with abs

I think I'm going to wait till Tuesday at my 2 week check up to see what doctor recommends me to do besides walking. This is major surgery and you don't want to push yourself. I have days where I'm still tired and days when I feel energized. Just don't need to over do it when feeling energized this early in the game.

I was told no exercising until I was 6 weeks post op. To me, that sounds about right in order to give the body time to heal.

Ok it's officially 7 days since my surgery. My direction is to not go to the next level of foods until 10 days. I feel depressed. I'm so over drinking. I'd like to have some applesauce or pudding or mashed potatoes. I'm having a super difficult time getting in enough calories. :-(. I seen a post where she could move on to the mushy foods by now. I don't know...maybe this is part of the process. Feeling depressed that is. I just want to sleep. I don't have the energy to get out and exercise like I know I should. Just ranting. I'll get over it I'm sure.

I felt that way too! It will get better!

I wasnt tired the first week but actually weak. My doc said that it was bc my calorie intake was so low and had changed so fast.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
