I had my surgery in this past Thursday. Everything went well for the first two days I was so sick couldn't hold anything down. But I am in day 3 of the juice party and will be starting Protein Shakes tomorrow. Don't feel like I have lost weight.

hang in there....it will get better

Sounds odd that you can't have Protein. Did you double check with your Dr? It's so essential for your body. 1 week post ops I'm clear liquid/protein. 64oz Water, broth, etc and 60 grams of protein.

Sleeved on the 17th, two days in the hospital, home for 3 days and back in the hospital for dehydration and low blood sugar. What a learning experience that was! I'm diligently sipping my fluids and have slowly started moving into full liquids. Had some butternut squash Soup and a pudding cup today and feel pretty good. Down 9 lbs. from surgery. Totally pleased with the results.

Surgery yesterday bad recovery with dry heaves and vomiting. Better now walked the halls yesterday. A lot of pain upper left side

Walk, walk, walk. I got up and made myself walk every two hours and it made a world of difference. Never had any pain from gas, just a little discomfort but it passed quickly.

When you find out, please post. I'm in the same boat.

I'm going in to get some IV fluids today. I'm not super dehydrated, but I've only hit 64oz liquid 1 time in the 3 weeks since surgery. Most days I get about 40oz.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
