I love th ideas and support. I never smoked with kids in the car so I have volunteered to run carpool for 7 boys this week. I am headed to the store for supplies since I actually flushed the last of the pack I had. I am going to do this! BTW' date=' what is the co2 test?[/quote']

I got a vapor cigarette with 0mg nicotine to fight the driving habit and after I eat habit. I got watermelon flavor. I love it!!

I am so new to this non smoking thing (9 hours:) ). What is the difference between a regular ecig and a vapor with no nicotine? I can order online but I'm wondering if some of the non nicotine varieties are available in stores. I live in a pretty small town but I think we have a few gas stations that carry ecigs!

I quit several years ago..cold turkey. My husband used chantix and it worked for him. Keep with it! My mother in law still smokes. Had I known I stunk so bad I woukd of never started. I can bareky stand it now and I feel so much better. If getting the sleeve is worth it...stopping smoking is definitely worth it!

Nicotine is also a factor in healing prooerly. No nicotine you would probably have to order online. I use Good Vapes in Dallas. They are awesome and very reasonable.

I would try a few cheapos until you find a brand you like. Some require a heavy draw & some are just plain heavy to hold.

Thanks to all of the suggestions, I am now officially smoke free for 48 hours! It doesn't sound like a lot, but I haven't had any major problems. I think conquering the driving is a HUGE deal. I can stay busy the rest of the time:)

That is huge. I forgot to mention that before i quit altogether I quit smoking in my smoking zones 1 by 1. I banned it from my car first, then each of my other spots. Smoking in the car and after meals were the 2 biggies to kick for me.

Thanks you guys. I am trying to Celebrate every little bit right now. I love th idea of zones. There are some places I'm just not ready to to (a bar, a casino) because the smoking temptation is so strong! I know it will get better, but right now...it's a lil rough. I just keep saying I want to be healthy and I want my surgery more than I want the cigarette. Deep breath:)

48 hours is great! I bugged my fiancé for the first 12 hours, about every 30 minutes..."how long's it been now?"

I just stood in front if my calendar with my husband trying to convince myself that it's been longer than it actually has. 74 hours as of 9:30! My sleeve and health is worth fighting for.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
