turboss 4 Posted July 23, 2013 I have a question. When I did my pre admit testing, my WBC came back high so they told me to go to my general doctor to get clearance. It turns out I had MRSA. I have been on antibiotics and went back yesterday to test my WBC again and it came back in normal limits and my general doctor ok'd me for surgery. My question is, will my weight loss surgeon still perform the surgery on me?
Arts137 1,811 Posted July 23, 2013 Should, you've been cured!
SueJH 205 Posted July 23, 2013 Of course. Half of the people in the OR probably have MRSA. It's a risk we have working in the health profession. You can be around people with active MRSA all the time and not know it. Like Arts said, your latest tests have come back normal. No reason not to operate.
