Well I'm almost three month out and it started the dreaded Hair loss. I have always had long hair and cannot picture me with short hair. I tey and wear it up all the time so I won't be leaving hair all over my house. My weightloss has been phenomenal. 55 lbs gone forever. Anyways my question is if I start taking these pills for hair and nails. Will it work a bit? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

First of all congratulations on such a significant weight loss!! (I'm still in the waiting the game).

From everything I've read, I understand hair loss to have a connection with not enough Protein?

Ya I think that has to do with it as well. But I'm not sure my nut said don't measure or count just eat. And one shake a day should be fine. So I eat only protien things. Ofcourse with this tiny pouch I cannt even finish eating 1egg. But I feel great. Everything is starting to seem normal.

Well it WILL help the supplement maker turn a profit! I think (also) that it's protein! Most need a minimum of 60 grams after sleeving (at least for a while).

That's what my NUT told me as well...plus chewable vitamins...

I was told the Hair loss is from the shock your body took to have surgery. It has to do with the chemicals in your body it switched to say its time to shed. That's why it isn't permanent lost. But yeah I think to help new Hair growth is to take your Vitamins and up your Protein.< /p>

The Hair loss is definitely from the lack of Protein. My girlfriend was not getting enough protein andit happened to her. I drink protein to go which has 28g of protein in 2oz. I drink it in my water bottle with half bottle of Water. I tried Protein Shakes but nothing agreed with my stomach....I drink 2-3 of these bottles everyday...which is between 56-84 g of protein a day.....it goes done so easily and thank GOD I haven't experienced the hair loss....prayerfully it will be kept at bey.....good luck....BTW....the Protein to go is also reasonably priced at 3.00 per bottle....I get mine whenever there on groupon.....I have enough to last till October....don't laugh....

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
