linda305 173 Posted July 23, 2013 Did you workout while you were losing the weight?
montugue 34 Posted July 23, 2013 Yes! Which ofcourse made the weight come off faster which created more skin.
LipstickLady 25,682 Posted July 23, 2013 It didn't create MORE skin.
clk 3,519 Posted July 23, 2013 First, exercise is no guarantee when it comes to loose skin. It's purely genetics. If you had a lot of stretch marks prior to surgery that is an indicator that your skin has less elasticity. That means you're more likely (not guaranteed) to have issues with skin rebound post op. Age is also a factor because skin naturally loses elasticity as we age. Second, you're only a few months out and probably don't have much to worry about. Between one year and two years post op my skin rebounded tremendously. I went from wanting plastics from head to toe to realizing I only needed them in two areas - and I've had twins so I already had a loose apron before my sleeve. Lots of hydration and doing anything you can to just keep your skin healthy will benefit you greatly. It will bounce back a lot. In the meantime, buy some comfortable, quality Shapewear and try not to beat yourself up. The last thing any of us needs to do is continue feeling insecure and unhappy with our bodies after working so hard to shed weight. ~Cheri 2 StarryNight and gypsyjolie reacted to this
Arts137 1,811 Posted July 23, 2013 Well, there are no magic answers. Plastic surgery does work, but 'tis expensive and (from what I've been told) hurts a bit.
JackieV 246 Posted July 23, 2013 For me, I embrace shape wear. I don't plan on looking for plastics for a couple years since I want to give my skin a chance to rebound. It's not pretty but I'd rather have the skin then the fat. It's a win/lose situation.
