First day back to work today and it felt like I was playing the child's game, Red Light (wait 30 minutes, eat, wait 30 minutes); Green Light, (sip, sip, sip!) and trying to work! My head is swimming!

I am trying to find my routine: sip, sip, sip you need 64 oz, but stop 30 mins prior-eat slow-wait 30 mins after eating, drink your protein- need 80 grams, but don't take your Calcium within 30 mins of dairy, take your multi Vitamin twice a day but not close to your calcium, start introducing soft foods. I can't get it all in?

I was so out of sync, when I got home my husband had boiled some chicken for dinner. I felt bad because I drank a Protein Shake on the way home trying to catch up. I asked him to give me a few moments because of the Protein but mindlessly kept sipping realizing once I got my serving, oh wait, I have to wait 30 minutes before I can eat!

I know it's not that difficult, many of you are doing it but I was frustrated today just not finding the rhythm of it all today. Any suggestions on how to get it all in? Every time my boss came over I had a drink to my mouth. I feel like coming up with a gadget to come up with hands free sipping but o,yeah no straws. Welcome to my new life:-) and btw I am loving my sleeve!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
