twinzrule 23 Posted July 22, 2013 I'm in my purée/soft Protein stage. I'm looking for suggestions for food that we're allowed to eat that goes with Tomato sauce. I know, weird but pre surgery it was my go to. My comfort food was plain noodles and sauce, pizza - u get the idea. During pre op diet I was having spaghetti squash but I think that's too firm of a food right now. I have tried meatballs and they went down fine but I can't live on that alone. One of my favorites when I was on puree's was from theworldaccordingtoeggface.com (I did it both in one pan and in 4oz. individual ramekins) Shelly's Baked Ricotta 8 oz of Ricotta cheese 1/2 cup grated Parmesan 1 large Egg, beaten 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning salt & pepper to taste 1/2 cup Marinara Sauce 1/2 cup shredded Mozzarella Cheese Mix ricotta cheese, parmesan, beaten egg, seasonings together and place in a oven proof dish. Pour marinara on top and top with mozzarella cheese. Bake it in the oven @ 450 for about 20-25 minutes (best) or nuke it till hot and bubbly. I usually made it first in the oven and heated the leftovers in the microwave. 1 Francieb reacted to this
swimmom 124 Posted July 22, 2013 The ricotta bakes are great - and you can do them many different ways, including adding some meatball, or sausage, or something like that!
Shrinkingmom 218 Posted July 22, 2013 My go to after surgery was pureed chicken with spaghetti sauce, topped with mozerella cheese. I heated it in the microwave and it was delicious. 1 JerseyGirl68 reacted to this
