Howdy y'all! I know I've read about these before, but since it's effecting me personally, I need some reassurance!

Today is the start of week 4 for me, but I haven't lost anything in over 9 days! In fact... I've gained 2.8 pounds!?! My NUT told me I need to be getting 1000 calories a day, and I've been meeting that, AND I'm getting 80-90 grams of Protein each day. The only thing I haven't mastered is the liquid intake! I'm only getting about 30-40 oz each day.

Help me! What am I doing wrong?

I think it's the liquid's, or lack of.

I have noticed if I slack off on my Water, my weight loss slows to a stop. Try your best to drink at least 8 glasses of Water a day and you should she a change for the better.

Good Luck!

If I may ask, how are you getting in 1000 cal. ? What foods are you eating? The max I seem to be getting in is 475-500. I'm just curious because I'm nowhere near that. I see my Dr. Wednesday, so I'll ask her, too.

I'm already eating real foods. I'm eating ham & cheese roll ups, chicken/tuna salad, Protein bars, shrimp, sweet potatoes, chili & cheese, cheese sticks...

I'm eating every 2 hours... even though I'm not hungry. :(

I'm a little over 3 months post op and I too experienced a stall and a gain around the 3rd week. I was devastated, I was already dealing with all the mental stress that this change gives you and the gaining was just awful. My gain was from pms, as well as liquid calories. I was drinking Gatorade and not enough Water. I began tracking everything that went into my mouth.

Anyhow, I'm curious as to why you are consuming so many calories. Just curios, at 3 months out the most I've had is about 600 calories and that's on a "cheat" day. I was told, and every dr/nut is different, to only eat 3 meals a day and if I got hungry in between meals to have a snack. I am now getting my hunger back not extreme, but I am hungrier now. As long as I sip, sip, sip my Water throughout the day the hunger is never present.

My doctor didn't give me certain numbers to meet specifically because he said many patients will over eat to try and get enough Protein in.

I am barely eating 500-600 calories a day. So 1000 seems like a ton to me.

Also from week 3-5 I hit a stall and gained 5 pounds and lost it more than once. But now I'm over that and am losing again. I eat the least amount of carbs a day as possible and focus on protein and tons of Fluid.

I agree with ALL of you... 1000 calories seems INSANE!! I'm not real fond of my NUT, so Id rather go with what works for the majority!

Do you think if I stay between 600-700 that I'll be okay? I'm starting week 4 post-op. I'm definitely going to up the Water... I sip all day long... I don't know how to UP it!

Well, I admit, I'm horrible at tracking anything. I just pay attention on getting my Protein in. I do that mostly with nectar drinks, in fact that's how I get my Water in as well. They have a lemonade flavor that I like. I drink 64 oz of that a day, and it's 46 grams of protein in total. I bet on some days I'm around 1000 calories, and some days I am much less. The Protein Drinks alone are around 500 calories.(Granted I drink 4 a day, but I also get over 90 grams of protein a day from them). I think 1000 would be easy to hit. I am not a NUT, so I won't offer that sort of suggestions, of whether or not you are getting too much or too little. I would try to up the liquid, and move around more. It's like any sort of health plan. Gotta drink water and gotta move, and I wouldn't think eating even when you aren't hungry would be a good idea, I mean..that's how most of us got here.
