7 meltdowns!!!!!

I'm an emotional bag tonight. Everything and anything is making me cry.

Cleaning mushrooms made me cry

I am usually the most level headed person in the world and my poor husband is suffering the brunt of my mood.

Please tell me it gets better. 13 more days of this I may need to hide in the cellar away from human interaction.

I found it gets better. Not quite in the program but a suggestion from a fellow soul was to have a small salad in the evening-- but only lettuce/chopped tomatoes and salt nothing else- the calories are esentially zero but it gave me something to look forward to at the end of the day, something to chew my frustration out on, and roughage which i always need. I exceeded the weight loss suggestion too, so no harm no foul.

Not recomending you do that, just sharing what a couple of us did.

It's hard for the first 3/4 days and will get better. BUT, if you add carbs, the 3/4 days start all over again. YES, this is hard, if it was easy, you'd a already done it!

MUCH of this is detoxing from your 'regular' eatieng, both physiologically and emotionally.

Hang in there, it is IMPORTANT to do this and shrink your liver so that the surgeon has an easier time of it.

I made some grilled mushrooms and tomatoes to eat along with the Soup which helped.

I'm not really feeling hungry but not satisfied.

I've got punnets of cherry tomatoes in the fridge to munch on.

I think I'm just feeling withdrawal. No sugar no Gin no wine no bread no gin.

The emotional part of all this can be overwhelming. This is a huge step you are taking, and all the emotions come along for the ride. You can absolutely do this. It is hard to avoid thoughts of what you can't have, try and focus on all the positive changes to come.... What I love about this site, is we are all in the same boat. We have either gone through it, are going through it with you or waiting our turn. One stop shopping for support from folks who kow exaclty what you're going through.

Stay strong and take it one day at a time. You can do it!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
