How bad does it hurt when YOU cough?

I get a tickle in my throat and I cough and it is the most painful thing ever! I'm 6 days post op, does this bother anyone else?

It hurt me to cough or sneeze for about 1 1/2 weeks post-op. I would have a pillow next to me at all times incase of this. I would hold the pillow against my belly while I would cough or sneeze. I found that it helped...
