1SlimSistah2 61 Posted July 21, 2013 Hey everyone, I was so psyched to have my sleep study last night but when I arrived at the hospital, no one was around, the security could not locate the technicians so I waited a half hour before another security person yelled out, "Anybody her for sleep lab?" So I jumped up happy and ready to go...unfortunately, my lab technician got into a car accident and was wheeled into the same emergency room I was in. How ya like them apples. I get home and can't sleep... I'm glad she will be okay but I so want to be finished with my tests. This will be another delay. I have Cardio & Gastro next...I see my primary tomorrow... Still rooting for an Aug. date...wish me luck & say a prayer. JB
MIJourney 490 Posted July 21, 2013 Sorry for your delay and the tech on her way to work:( My sleep study kept me up also but due to the dang nasal cannula stuck in my nose. The tech cut it down as he said my nose was small but it kept reverberating off my nostrils just by breathing and I could only fall asleep for a few minutes at a time. Asked if there was another option and he said no. I ended up leaving at 1am and went home after I asked if he got enough data on me. Weird thing is during surgery I also had a cannula when I woke up but it was no problem and very flexible so not an issue. Good luck with yours being scheduled again soon. MIJourney 490 Posted July 23, 2013 What's a "nasal canulla"(sp.?) It's a plastic tube in your nose to either provide oxygen or track your breathing in the case of the sleep study. 1 1SlimSistah2 reacted to this
