ww412 1 Posted July 21, 2013 I'm scheduled for surgery July 31st & I've never been more excited in my entire 21 years of life. The most difficult part of this whole journey is that I work in the food industry. I need some advice from other people in the restaurant business on how they got through the liquid diet and how to fight the cravings because even if I just ate I will come into work and see something delicious on the grill an I'm instantly hungry again! HELPPPPPP!

ww412 1 Posted July 21, 2013 I didn't know brushing my teeth would curb my appetite but I will for sure try that! Thank you so much for the encouraging words!
LipstickLady 25,682 Posted July 21, 2013 It won't curb your appetite as much as it will just make everything taste bad. I rinse with something strong like Listerine when I bake so I am not tempted to taste.
Poolguard 55 Posted July 21, 2013 I think that you will be surprised at how little you will crave food after surgery. Once you commit to eating the proper things and eating small amounts of the right foods - you will find that this is no real concern at all.

After surgery it's really my worry right now, it's my liquid diet before surgery that makes me nervous...
determined1103 22 Posted July 21, 2013 I have the same concerns. I start my liquid diet Monday and have no idea how this is going to wk. I don't wk in fast food but I have a teen, a tot and a husband to cook for. Hopefully our determination will keep us strong. I have done spiritual fasts before (not for this length of time) maybe I will try to do it that way. When it's time to sacrifice that meal try prayer and study. Good luck. Keep us posted and I will do the same. 1 greenivy reacted to this
BabyGirl2730 3 Posted July 21, 2013 Just tell yourself how dangerous it will be for you liver during surgery! You don't want your liver all big and flabby to the point it could get nicked and cause damage!! It is difficult but you can do it
