So I'm 2 months out and I've lost 29lbs a lot of that weight was early out and now I'm losing quite slowly and have many weeks where I don't loose at all. My restriction is good and I simply can't eat too much so it is frustrating how my body is really clinging on to the fat as much as possible.

I am unable to hit the gym as I have a knee problem (which will require surgery) so I'm disadvantaged that I cannot exercise as I used to. Others have re-assured me that the weight will still come off but this might explain my slow losses but it is incredibly frustrating that I am eating maybe 80% less than I used to yet my losses are so slow.

The good news is that my thyroid medication for hyperthyroidism has been halved.

Anyone else finding this a slow slog?

It's got to the point that when I see the May sleevers progress thread I can't read it any more as I'm so far behind most other people :(

Yes, it's a slow slog. But as Confucius says, "No journey is too far as long as you do not stop"

I have knee issues too so I can sympathize. Have you thought about going to a physical therapist? Mine was great and showed me all kinds of exercise I could do even with my bum knee. Riding the bike is a GREAT one but you really need the PT to show you the right way to do it. Dependiing on what the issue is, they can also give you strengthening exercises to do at home and/or on the equipment at the gym. Also, Water aerobics are great and you can modify if there's anything hard on the knees (I tell my instructor and she gives me ideas to modify, but really as long as you keep moving you're good). Also, what about gentle walking? Hang in there--your weight loss is GREAT for 2 months even if it does slow down a bit. Make sure you are getting plenty of water and Protein.< /p>

I can't remember a time in my life pre-op where I lost 29 pounds in two months...especially knowing I'd be keeping it off, for sure! Celebrate your victory and STOP comparing to others!

Hey! I'm a May sleever and were running pretty close. I'm also on par with a number of others in our group. I have realized that often when people are posting huge losses they are including pre op diet loss as well and may have been on that for weeks. We're doing fine!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
