Everyone is different right? In the amount they will be able to eat?

I can eat a whole single serve applesauce cup and that fills me up and I'm only 10 days post op? Now I feel like I'm doing something wrong!

Most definitely everyone is different, or I should say their stomachs are different. Example a taller mans stomach will be larger than that of a petite woman's stomach after surgery. Even if the same surgeon preformed the surgery using the same size "bougie".

In the beginning you really want to measure out your portions (did your surgeon give you amounts?) the full signal is not really reliable until its to late sometimes because your stomach is swollen and numb..

Yes, everyone is different. Some people have the swelling go down sooner. This doesn't mean you will be able to eat more solid food than anyone else.

I have started a blog so I can have a permanent place for answers to many of the questions I see here. My second entry lists several VSG guides that are available online:

My surgeon gives a packet with all the things you need to know.. It says I should be able to drink a 10oz Protein shake by 10 days post op but I can only do 4oz and it says 6oz broth I can't do anything 6oz but the applesauce goes down better. Yesterday and today I noticed thicker things go down better.

I'm going to my dr tomorrow for my post op check I'm going to see if I can start the baby food stage

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
