I'm three weeks post op and I just had 1/3 cup of pureed sweet potato. It's the first time since I have had surgery that something went down really easily and I feel like I could eat more. I'm just scared that I'm overeating. How much were you able to eat at this stage?

Thanks AngelNP I would really appreciate that. My surgeon didn't give me very clear directions so I always feel like I don't have a clue what I am doing.

Yeppers... to Laura...

Eat slowly (it matters) and your body will tell you...

Some just feel full... some say they gat a warning burb...

The GOOD news is you will ID your own signals and be able to do this SOON.

Good point Laura (unfortunately too late - I trust Angel that you have good intentions :) ) Thanks for posting that link. It's very helpful! It's nice to have an outline of what a normal day might look like.

Thanks Arts - I'm guessing that I might be overdoing it. It seems like I feel nothing and then a very sharp pain in my sternum. It really is hard to shake that need to 'finish a meal'. I think I need to pay closer attention.

I was taught to clean your plate always. As an adult that is still engraved in my brain. I think I'm starting to etch it out, but to make life simple I eat on a saucer. That way when I put food on it, it is a very small amount. Makes the battle in my mind easier to win. Good luck!

Hence, that's why I provide my email addy, to those who want the information I have. In general, that is correct.

Yes, info sent. I have too much information to provide on a forum. I have created two great documents that I have no problems sharing. I've complied great suggestions from multiple sleevers and put it together. I have three different versions of something similar to what Laura shared...but in more detail. More specific on what types of food; how much, how to weigh, what type of equipment you will need to assist...etc. 6 videos on common questions/concerns, 2012 research on all weight loss surgeries, etc. If someone wants this information, please PM me and I'll provide you my email address, so I can send it to you, if not, no big deal. Have a great weekend.

It's always nice to see new members helping new members :)

That sharp sternum pain is my warning sign too. Soon as I feel it I stop (sometimes I stop sooner, but when I feel that pain, that's my last bite). :-)

I think that a good rule of thumb in the very early stages is to to measure out 1/4 cup at meal time

The difference between 1/4 and 1/3 is enough to have painful consequences.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
