softballmom 18 Posted July 20, 2013 I was sleeved on Monday, July 15th. I'm really ready for the mushy stage. Do you think some people can handle it more than others?? I had wonton Soup last night and ate 2 wontons with no problem. It filled me up too!! I have the feeling of hunger and it won't go away!! I'm ready to try a few things?? What do y'all think??? TES 858 Posted July 20, 2013 I would definitely follow your surgeon's plan.... when does it allow mushies? 3 Andi, Coralia Theophile and ShelPrice reacted to this
No game 14,437 Posted July 20, 2013 Dude you already ate wontons?? Well at least when you go you go big... I would call the dr. And talk to him or her about it. It's really not our place to clear you. But I'm sure someone will When you do start mushy type food stick to what the doctor tells you and measure because your stomach is still numb and you might not feel much. 2 Kimmy1813 and TES reacted to this

Andi 78 Posted July 20, 2013 Stick to what the bariatric team advised. You're still healing on the inside. Time will move along quicker than you think. Don't rush. 3 Coralia Theophile, TES and ShelPrice reacted to this
Paul11011 372 Posted July 20, 2013 Where you seriously not given any instructions on what you SHOULD and should not be putting into the recently incised organ inside of you? Any conversation about food desires aside, you have to give the stomach time to heal and 5 days isn't enough. 6 Kami63, NoneYa, TES and 3 others reacted to this
softballmom 18 Posted July 20, 2013 Yes I was!! I also was told that some people tolerate things better than others!! I didn't say I was ready for a steak. Geez.... I was just asking if the mushy stage was an option earlier for some than others!! Never mind that I posted.... I'll just call my Dr!! 2 SaraBC and jenray83 reacted to this
chapasmamita 12 Posted July 20, 2013 I was sleeved on Wednesday July 17 and I too feel your pain of being hungry. I find it weird that so many surgeons have different plans as to why you can advance to the next stages. My surgeon said 7-9 days on liquids then advance to mushy foods for 4-6 weeks. I really want to eat food too but the thought of my stomach ripping open where the staples are makes me change my mind real quick. Just know that you are not alone. It will be over before we know it and we will be able to eat normal foods again soon enough. Keep your head up and no more wontons!! 2 TES and jenns08 reacted to this
No game 14,437 Posted July 20, 2013 Sorry girlie It's kinda the luck of the draw around here as to who you get to answer.... I think all the enablers are at Micky D's or something! But really it's always best to talk to your Dr. than some random person here. Take care and remember that your stomach is swollen and numb this soon out and you really need to be careful. 3 TES, jenns08 and Kimmy1813 reacted to this
olestevebone 20 Posted July 20, 2013 I know after the first few days I experimented and I doubt I'm the only one. I know one time I tried to eat hamburger when I was in stage 2 and paid the price!
goirish78 100 Posted July 20, 2013 Yes, definitely call your doctor, but it seems like all plans are different. My purees started on Thursday and I was just sleeved on Monday.

LipstickLady 25,682 Posted July 20, 2013 Wontons aren't included on the mushy food list, so you are skipping past liquid, mushy and into soft/solid. Yes, some people tolerate food better than others but I'd hate for you to find out that you are not one if them the hard way. I'd recommend you use this time to figure out why you are unwilling or unable to stick to your surgeon's plan. Talk to your doctor about your options, too. I could have smooth yogurt, pudding, Jello, cream strained Soups and shakes during my full liquid stage. Perhaps you can find one thicker options. I'm confused on why you might be offended that some are looking out for your best interest by stating fact; wontons aren't liquid and your doctor knows best. It seems that you were looking for approval only, so why even bother to ask? 5 TES, Paul11011, jensjoy28 and 2 others reacted to this
LipstickLady 25,682 Posted July 20, 2013 See... That's what I was getting at!! It seems everyone's plan is different! I believe I'm ready for mushy food so I will be calling my Dr. Good luck to you!! Awesome! You got the answer you wanted! I hope that advice trumps that medical degree of the surgeon you entrusted your life with. 3 TES, NoneYa and Linkinchik reacted to this
softballmom 18 Posted July 20, 2013 Damn..... Seems like I pissed people off just because I voice my opinion. When I ate the damn wonton... I took the meet out and had the noodle!!! I believe it has the same consistency of applesauce which is the next phase that is just a few days away!!! Your so right.... I will take the advice of my surgeon! I do thank the people that actually gave advice in a nice way instead of jumping my ass because I questioned something.
