I can eat a pudding cup in 1 sitting...Normal?

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved on 6/25, and for three weeks followed my surgeon's strict liquid only diet. Now that I am on soft foods I've found that I can eat more than I thought I would be able to. I can eat an entire pudding cup in 1 sitting. Is that normal at this stage? (almost 4 weeks post-op)

Those are about 4 oz. I think that is normal, at least for me. I have a 4 oz dish and if it didn't fit I didn't eat it right after liquids. I'm a little more now depending on what it is.

Thank you. And, yes, it is kind of nice to think of one pudding cup as a lot of food!

I am 6 1/2 weeks out and I can eat 4-5 ounces in one sitting, but it takes me about 45 minutes because I take really slow bites.

I can do that too! I had thin lunch meat though one day and could eat less than an ounce. And stayed full a little longer tan something like yogurt or Protein shake. It is great that I feel like my yogurt cup is a lot lol

Where did you get a 4 oz dish?

Yes is normal. I love the new Jello flavors! I could also do a cup of greek yogurt. I get the fat free with vanilla and add small amount of apple sauce. It has 17 grams of Protein. Keep up the good work

I found some great little 4 oz brand new tupperware dishes with lids for a quarter each at a yard sale. Bought 10 of them and a few a little larger. hey are so perfect. I made sf egg custard and divided it up...yummy.I also found some great popsicle molds. I take almond milk, sf pudding and Protein power and mix it up. First time I did choc, today I am making vanilla with blue berries. What a treat!!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
