LipstickLady 25,682 Posted July 20, 2013 I went 15 days total without making a poodle. Don't worry about Protein for your first week or two, just keep yourself hydrated. If you can get down a vanilla greek yogurt, that's great if you can't handle the shakes. The first week is the worst but it does get better. Just keep in mind that as long as you are on all liquids, een full liquids like Soups, your poops will most likely be puddles. Buy flushable baby wipes, too. Your bum will thank you. Jen35 283 Posted July 20, 2013 At least you are in good company! I had that happen the evening I got home from surgery. My tummy started gurgling and I didn't make it to the bathroom! I'm 8 weeks out and it's gotten better, but I still have times when I'm running to the bathroom after eating. I also had my gallbladder out 5 weeks ago so I thought it was related to that but who knows. It's not fun! It's like severe IBS - aweful. I agree that you have an awesome guy to help you. My hubby helped me too as I was crying and mortified:) Oh well, **** happens!

TES 858 Posted July 20, 2013 I think this happens to almost everyone! My PA basically told us to expect it in pre-op. Mine started just as I was leaving the hospital (surgery on a Tuesday, left Thursday evening). It lasted for 2 weeks, which the PA also said to expect. I also carried spare clothes in my car for a while, just in case. Didn't need them but it was a good sense of security.
