Tres Chic 0 Posted January 10, 2007 Hello All, I'm new to the site, and thus far have been wowed at how great everyone is. I can't believe that I didn't know about the existence of a place like this before when I was considering the surgery! Like you, Tres Chic, I am also having my surgery on Feb. 1 at the TLBC. I am getting excited! Just wanted to say hello. Good luck to everyone! Hi b_russell: I'll be thinking of you on Feb 1. What time is your surgery? I'm at 12:30 pm. I'm pretty excited too. hopeful07 0 Posted January 12, 2007 Thanks hisnhers :huggie: , I've been doing better since I read your suggestions. Not 100% following the doc's diet yet, but up to about 85% (still have 5 weeks before surgery).

Tres Chic 0 Posted January 23, 2007 My surgery is at 9:00 am. Have you gone to the pre-op seminar yet? I haven't had a chance to do a pre-op seminar. I have a mole in there checking things out for me, hopefully, taking notes. Are you on the Pre-op diet now? Getting nervous?

Getting nervous? Today was day one of the pre-op diet... Not fun, but do-able. I guess I am excited (slash, hysterical and nervous), so this gives me something proactive to do. How are you finding it so far? I have the pre-op seminar tomorrow evening at Prince Arthur. I don't really understand what is going to be covered that hasn't already been addressed in the info. packet, but I guess I shall soon find out... If you need another note-taker, let me know! That would be great, thanks. I can't make it due to another commitment. I agree, what else is there to learn that we can't find out in here!
juliegeraci 7 Posted January 23, 2007 I didn't have a preop diet but I wanted to congratulate you on the surgery. You will love your band. Best of luck.
Tres Chic 0 Posted January 26, 2007 Well, I'm on Day 3 of the Pre-op diet and the intense carb-withdrawal headaches are setting in. Aside from that, and the boredom of cottage cheese and yogurt, it's doable -- I just keep thinking of the bigger picture and the head start to weight loss. b_russel... how are you doing? Desiree1970 0 Posted January 27, 2007 I'm pre op also and my doctor suggested substituting only one meal for a Protein Shake instead of an absolute 2 week fast.

Hi Tres Chic! Glad to hear that you are doing well. I totally agree with you... as long as I am thinking about the bigger picture I am fine with the cottage cheese and yogurt. Actually, once I hit day four of the pre-op diet, I actually started to feel fine - I guess that was when the carb insanity was finally out of my system. Aside from that, I'm just excited! Are you gearing up?
Tres Chic 0 Posted January 27, 2007 b_russel - I sure am. I have a friend who was banded a week ago, and she's given me some great tips. For example, get some straws to drink with so that you don't take in extra air and add to the gas pain. And buy Gas-X strips that dissolve on your tongue. She said they were lifesavers. Good luck!
